永恆主以色列的上帝啊，你對你僕人我父親大衛曾經應許說：「只要你子孫謹慎他們所行的，遵行我的律法、像你行於我面前一樣，那麼你的後裔就必不斷有人在我面前坐以色列的王位」，現在求你守這句話的約吧。

你在世的年日滿足、跟你列祖一同長眠了之後，我必立起你以後由你親腹出的苗裔；我必堅立他的國。

這樣、永恆主就必堅立他的話、就是他所應許關於我的話、說：「你的子孫若謹慎他們所行的路，全心全意忠誠誠地行於我面前，那麼、你的子孫就不斷有人坐以色列的王位了。」

耶何耶大使王和人民與永恆主之間立了約，要做永恆主的人民；又使王與人民之間也立了約。

那麼我就立定你的國位，正如我和你父親大衛立了約說：「你子孫總必不斷有人來統治以色列的」。

你的家你的國在我面前必堅固牢靠到永遠；你的王位必堅立到永遠。」』

於是以色列眾長老都到希伯崙來見大衛王；大衛王在希伯崙永恆主面前和他們立約，他們就膏立了大衛做王來管理以色列。

他的後裔必存到永遠，他的王位在我面前必如日之恆，

那麼我就立定你國的王位、來管理以色列到永遠；正如我在關於你父親大衛的事上曾應許說：「你的子孫必總不斷有人在以色列的王位上。」

我必使他的後裔永久存在，使他的王位如天之壽命。

耶何耶大使眾民和王與自己之間立了約，要做永恆主的人民。

於是以色列眾長老都來到希伯崙見大衛王；大衛在希伯崙永恆主面前和他們立約，他們就膏立了大衛為王來管理以色列，正如永恆主的話、由撒母耳經手所說的。

以及他們的族弟兄、九百五十六人、按他們的世系計算的：以上這些人都是父系的族長，按他們父系的家屬指出來的。祭司中有耶大雅、耶何雅立、雅斤；還有亞薩利雅、是上帝之殿的總管，希勒家的兒子，希勒家是米書蘭的兒子，米書蘭是撒督的兒子，撒督是米拉約的兒子，米拉約是亞希突的兒子。又有瑪基雅的曾孫、巴施戶珥的孫子、耶羅罕的兒子亞大雅，和亞第業的兒子瑪賽；亞第業是雅希細拉的兒子，雅希細拉是米書蘭的兒子，米書蘭是米實利密的兒子，米實利密是音麥的兒子，以及他們的族弟兄、他們父系家屬的族長、一千七百六十人，都是才德之士、很能作上帝殿內事務之工的。利未人米拉利的子孫中、有哈沙比雅的曾孫、押利甘的孫子、哈述的兒子示瑪雅；還有拔巴甲、黑勒施、迦拉、和亞薩的曾孫、細基利的孫子、米迦的兒子瑪探雅；又有耶杜頓的曾孫、迦拉的孫子、示瑪雅的兒子俄巴底；還有以利加拿的孫子、亞撒的兒子比利家、那些住在尼陀法人的村莊的。守門的是沙龍、亞谷、達們、亞希幔、和他們的族弟兄；沙龍做頭。直到現在為止、這些人是看守朝東之王門的；如今他們是利未人營中的守門者。可拉的曾孫、以比雅撒的孫子、可利的兒子沙龍，和他父系家屬的族弟兄可拉人、是管理事務之工、把守帳棚門檻的；他們的祖宗也曾經管理永恆主的營盤、把守出入之處。從前以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈作過他們的總管（願永恆主和他同在！）米施利米雅的兒子撒迦利雅是會棚出入處的看門者。這些受選拔做把守門檻者共有二百一十二人；他們在自己村莊裏登記了家譜；他們是大衛和先見撒母耳所派立、來擔當這受託職任的。他們和他們的子孫按班次來看守永恆主之殿、會棚之殿、的門；在東西南北四方都有看門者。他們的族弟兄、那些在他們村莊裏的、往往每七天就來、和他們同工。這四個看門主任都是利未人。他們是受託經常上班看守上帝之殿的貯藏室和府庫。他們住宿在上帝之殿的四圍；因為看守的職任託付於他們身上；他們也保管鑰匙，天天早晨好用。
