王站在他的地位上，在永恆主面前立約，要全心全意地跟從永恆主，謹守他的誡命、法令、律例，實行所寫在這書上的約的話。

因為人類並不知道他自己的定時：魚怎樣被捉住於致禍的網裏，鳥怎樣被捉住於機檻中，人類當禍患時、災禍忽然降到他們身上時、人也怎樣被羅住。

祭司撒督就從帳棚中取了盛膏油的角來，膏立了所羅門；人就吹號角，眾民都說：『願所羅門王萬歲！』眾民跟隨他上來，一直吹笛，大大歡喜；地都因他們的聲音而震裂了！

所以一切論斷人的人哪，你是無可推諉的。你在甚麼事上論斷別人，就在甚麼事上定你自己的罪；因為你這論斷人的人、正行着同樣的事。我們知道，對行這樣事的人、上帝的處刑是按着真實的。

義人執政，人民就喜樂；惡人掌權，人民就歎息。

永恆主告訴摩西說：『你要作兩枝銀號筒，用錘的法子來作；使你可以召集會眾，也可以叫眾營往前行。他們吹兩枝的時候，全會眾都要聚集到你這裏、在會棚的出入處。他們若單吹一枝，眾首領、以色列的族系長、就要聚集攏來到你這裏。你們吹緊急聲的時候，那紮在東邊的營、都要往前行。你們第二次吹緊急聲的時候，那紮在南邊的營都要往前行。要往前行、他們總吹緊急聲的。但召集大眾的時候，你們要吹號筒，卻不要吹緊急聲。是亞倫子孫做祭司的要吹號筒：這要做你們世世代代永遠的條例。你們在本地若跟擾害你們的敵人交戰，就要用號筒吹緊急聲，那你們就要在永恆主你們的上帝面前被記起，也要得拯救脫離你們的仇敵。在你們的快樂日子和制定節期、及月初一、你們獻燔祭和平安祭的時候，也要用號筒吹緊急聲，這在你們的上帝面前要替你們使他記起：我永恆主是你們的上帝。』

他們震懾恐懼，因為上帝在義人的族類中。

大衛和事務隊長們也將亞薩希幔耶杜頓子孫中一些人分別出來，叫他們拿琴瑟響鈸來傳神言。那些按這種事務去作工的人、其數目如下：屬亞薩兒子的；有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅、亞薩利拉、都是亞薩的兒子，在亞薩手下受指揮，亞薩則在王手下受指揮以音樂而傳神言。屬耶杜頓的：有耶杜頓的兒子基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅、瑪他提雅、六個人，都在他們父親耶杜頓手下受指揮；耶杜頓則拿琴來傳神言，稱謝讚美永恆主。屬希幔的：有希幔的兒子布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、書巴業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提、瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是為王做見異象者的，在上帝的事情上來高舉其角的：上帝賜給希幔十四個兒子、三個女兒。這些人在永恆主之殿的音樂上都在他們父親手下受指揮；他們拿響鈸琴瑟來服務於上帝的殿；至於在王手下受指揮的乃是亞薩耶杜頓希幔。這樣、他們的數目、連同他們的族弟兄、在歌頌永恆主的事上、特別受過訓練、很精通的、共有二百八十八人。這些人無論小的大的、精通的同學習的、一概並立拈鬮、來分職守。

大衛也吩咐利未人的首領要派立他們的族弟兄做歌唱者、拿琴瑟響鈸等樂器歡歡喜喜高聲作樂的人。於是利未人派立了約珥的兒子希幔、和他的族弟兄中比利家的兒子亞薩、和他們的族弟兄米拉利子孫中古沙雅的兒子以探。同他們在一起的還有他們族弟兄做第二班：撒迦利雅、巴尼、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、跟守門的俄別以東和耶利。這樣、歌唱者希幔、亞薩、以探要拿銅鈸大聲作樂；撒迦利雅、烏薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅、比拿雅要鼓瑟，調用高音：瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別以東、耶利、亞撒西雅要領首彈琴，調用第八度低音。基拿尼雅在音樂上做利未人的首領；他要在音樂上作教練，因為他很精通。

於是這三百眾民、手中拿着乾糧跟號角；其餘的以色列人、基甸都打發各回各家去，只留下那三百人。當時米甸營就在他下邊山谷中。

在他們附近的人、甚至以薩迦、西布倫、拿弗他利人、也帶了食物來，用驢、駱駝、騾子、牛、將麵食、無花果乾、葡萄乾、酒、油、馱了來，又牽了許多牛和羊來；因為以色列中很歡樂。

約蘭就旋轉車手而逃跑，對亞哈謝說：『亞哈謝啊，反了！』

王站在柱旁，在永恆主面前立約，要全心全意地跟從永恆主，謹守他的誡命、法令、律例，來實行這書上所寫這約的話；眾民也都站着承認這約。

亞哈見了以利亞，便對他說：『這真是你麼，你這把以色列搞壞的？』以利亞說：『把以色列搞壞的並不是我，乃是你、和你父的家呀；因為你離棄了永恆主的誡命，去隨從眾巴力。

大衛和所有抬櫃的利未人、和歌唱者、跟音樂主任基拿尼雅、都穿着細麻布外袍；大衛另外穿着細麻布聖裲襠。

我和所有跟隨我的人吹號角時，你們也要在全營四圍吹號角，喊叫說：「為永恆主！為基甸！」』基甸和跟隨他的一百人、在半夜更之初、剛剛換更的時候、來到營的儘邊，就吹號角，擊破手中的瓶。三隊的人就都吹號角，打破瓶子，左手握着火把，右手握着號角好吹；他們都喊叫說：『有刀為永恆主，為基甸！』他們在營的四圍各站各的地方；全營的人都亂竄；又吶喊，又逃跑。三百人把三百枝號角吹了起來，永恆主使各人的刀在全營中互相擊殺；他們向西利拉逃到伯哈示他，直到亞伯米何拉河邊，靠近他巴。

他們就急忙各將自己的衣服鋪在全無裝飾的臺階上、在耶戶腳下；又吹號角說：『耶戶作王了。』

義人平安無事，合城喜躍；惡人滅亡，人都歡呼。

祭司示巴尼、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿亞、以利以謝要在上帝的櫃前吹號筒。俄別以東和耶希亞也要給約櫃做守門的。
