你這判斷人的啊！無論你是誰，都沒有辦法推諉。你在甚麼事上判斷人，就在甚麼事上定自己的罪；因為你所作的，正是你所判斷的事。我們知道，神必照著真理審判行這些事的人。

義人增多的時候，人民就喜樂；惡人掌權的時候，人民就歎息。

耶和華對摩西說：“你要用銀子作兩枝號，要錘出來的，可以用來召集會眾，也可以叫會眾拔營起行。吹號的時候，全體會眾都要到你那裡，聚集在會幕的門口。如果單吹一枝，眾領袖，就是以色列的族長，都要到你那裡聚集。你們吹大聲的時候，那在東邊的營，都要起行。你們第二次吹大聲的時候，那在南邊的營，都要起行；他們要起行，必須吹大聲。但召集會眾的時候，你們要吹號，卻不要吹大聲。亞倫的子孫作祭司的要作吹號的；這要作你們世世代代永遠的條例。你們在本地與欺壓你們的仇敵作戰的時候，就要吹大聲，使你們在耶和華你們的神面前得蒙記念，也得拯救脫離你們的仇敵。此外，在你們快樂的日子和指定的節期，以及月朔，你們獻燔祭和平安祭的時候，也要吹號，這都要在你們的神面前替你們作為記念；我是耶和華你們的神。”

他們必大大震驚，因為神在義人的群體中。

大衛和軍隊的領袖，也給亞薩、希幔和耶杜頓的子孫分派了任務，叫他們用琴瑟響鈸說預言。他們任職的人數如下：亞薩的兒子有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅和亞薩利拉；亞薩的兒子都歸亞薩指揮，遵照王的旨意說預言。至於耶杜頓，他的兒子有基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅和瑪他提雅，共六人，都歸他們的父親耶杜頓指揮。耶杜頓用琴說預言，稱謝和讚美耶和華。至於希幔，他的兒子有布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、細布業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提．以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提和瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是王的先見，照著神的話高舉他（“高舉他”原文作“高舉角”）。神賜給希幔十四個兒子，三個女兒。這些人都歸他們的父親指揮，在耶和華的殿裡歌頌，用響鈸和琴瑟在神的殿事奉。亞薩、耶杜頓和希幔都是由王指揮的。他們和他們的親族，在歌頌耶和華的事上受過特別訓練，精於歌唱的，人數共有二百八十八人。這些人，無論大小，不分師生，都一同抽籤分班次。

大衛又吩咐利未支派的領袖，要指派他們的親族負責歌唱，用琴瑟響鈸各種樂器，歡歡喜喜高聲歌唱。於是利未人指派了約珥的兒子希幔和他的親族中比利家的兒子亞薩，以及他們的親族米拉利的子孫中古沙雅的兒子以探。和他們一起的還有作第二班的，他們的親族：撒迦利雅、便、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、比拿雅、瑪西雅、瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅，以及守門的俄別．以東和耶利。歌唱的希幔、亞薩和以探敲打銅鈸，發出響亮的聲音；撒迦利雅、雅薛、示米拉末、耶歇、烏尼、以利押、瑪西雅和比拿雅敲瑟，調用女高音；瑪他提雅、以利斐利戶、彌克尼雅、俄別．以東、耶利和亞撒西雅彈琴領導，調用男低音。利未支派的領袖基拿尼雅專責音樂，又教人音樂，因為他精通音樂。

於是眾民手裡拿著食物和號角；所有其他的以色列人，基甸都打發他們各回自己的帳棚去，只留下這三百人。當時米甸營就在他們下面的平原裡。

在他們附近的人，甚至以薩迦、西布倫和拿弗他利支派的人，都用驢、駱駝、騾子和牛，給他們帶來了很多食物：麵餅、無花果餅、葡萄餅乾、酒、油和許多牛羊，以色列全境就充滿歡樂。

約蘭立刻把車調轉過來逃跑，對亞哈謝說：“亞哈謝啊，反了！”

王站在柱旁，在耶和華面前立約，要一心一意跟從耶和華，謹守他的誡命、典章和律例，實行這書上所寫有關這約的話。眾民都一同立約。

亞哈看見了以利亞，就問他：“給以色列惹麻煩的這個人就是你嗎？”以利亞說：“給以色列惹麻煩的，不是我，而是你和你父的家；因為你們離棄了耶和華的誡命，又去隨從巴力。

大衛和所有抬約櫃的利未人，以及歌唱的人和歌唱的人的領袖基拿尼雅，都穿上細麻布的外袍；大衛另外穿上細麻布的以弗得。

我和所有與我在一起的人吹角的時候，你們也要在全營的四周吹角，喊叫說：‘為耶和華！為基甸！’”基甸和所有與他在一起的一百人，在半夜三更的起初，換更的時候，來到了營的邊緣，就吹起角來，打破手中的瓦瓶。三隊的人就都吹角，打破瓦瓶，左手緊握著火把，右手緊握著角不住地吹，並且喊叫說：“耶和華和基甸的刀！”他們在營的四周各站在自己的位置；全營的人都亂跑，他們一面叫喊，一面逃跑。三百人吹那三百枝角的時候，耶和華使全營的人用刀互相擊殺，然後他們向著西利拉逃到伯．哈示他，直到靠近他巴的亞伯．米何拉河邊。

他們就急忙把自己的衣服放在他腳下的上層（“上層”原文意思不詳，或譯：“沒有裝飾的”）臺階上，然後吹響號角宣告：“耶戶作王了。”

義人亨通，全城歡樂；惡人滅亡，大家歡呼。

示巴尼、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿亞和以利以謝幾位祭司，在神的約櫃前吹號；俄別．以東和耶希亞也作看守約櫃的人。
