Nevertheless, because of the covenant the Lord had made with David, the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David. He had promised to maintain a lamp for him and his descendants forever.

But the Lord didn’t want to destroy the royal family of David. That’s because the Lord had made a covenant with him. The Lord had promised to keep the lamp of David’s kingdom burning brightly. The Lord had promised that for David and his children after him forever.

Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and since he had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.

But the Lord did not want to destroy David’s dynasty, for he had made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.

but for the sake of the covenant the LORD had made with David, he was unwilling to destroy the house of David since the LORD had promised to give a lamp to David and to his sons forever.

只是我不撕裂全国，却要因我仆人大卫和我所选择的耶路撒冷，保留一个支派给你的儿子。”

在他仆人大卫家中，为我们兴起了拯救的角，

要照亮坐在黑暗中死荫里的人，把我们的脚引到和平的路上。’”

我们要上去攻击犹大，扰乱它，攻破它来归我们，在其中立他比勒的儿子为王。主耶和华如此说：这事必站立不住，也不得成就。

我要为他存留我的慈爱，直到永远，我与他所立的约必坚定不移。我也要使他的后裔存到永远，使他的宝座如天之久。“倘若他的子孙离弃我的律法，不照我的典章行，背弃我的律例，不遵守我的诫命，我就要用杖责罚他们的过犯，用鞭责罚他们的罪孽。只是我不将我的慈爱全然收回，也不叫我的信实废除。我必不毁损我的约，也不改变我口中所出的话。

在那里我要使大卫的角茁壮，为我的受膏者预备明灯。我要使他的仇敌披上羞耻；但他的冠冕要在他头上发光。”

“耶和华如此说：你们若能废弃我所立白日黑夜的约，使白日黑夜不按时轮转，就能废弃我与我仆人大卫所立的约，使他没有后裔在他的宝座上作王，并能废弃我与事奉我的利未家的祭司所立的约。正如天上的万象不能数算，海边的尘沙不能斗量，我必照样使我仆人大卫的后裔和事奉我的利未人多起来。”耶和华的话临到耶利米，说：“你没有留意这百姓所说的话吗？他们说：‘耶和华所拣选的二族，他已经弃绝了。’他们这样藐视我的百姓，不把他们当作国来看待。耶和华如此说：除非我没有立白日黑夜之约，也未曾安排天和地的定例，否则我不会弃绝雅各的后裔和我仆人大卫的后裔，使大卫的后裔不再治理亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的后裔。我必使他们被掳的人归回，也必怜悯他们。”

你厌恶与你仆人所立的约，将他的冠冕践踏于地。

我的家在上帝面前不是如此吗？上帝与我立永远的约，这约既全备又稳妥。我的一切救恩和我一切所想望的，他岂不成全吗？

但洗鲁雅的儿子亚比筛帮助大卫攻击非利士人，杀死了他。当日，大卫的人向大卫起誓说：“你不可再与我们一同出战，免得以色列的灯熄灭了。”

耶和华却因他仆人大卫的缘故，不肯灭绝犹大，要照他所应许的，永远赐灯光给大卫和他的子孙。

耶和华凭信实向大卫起了誓，绝不改变：“我要立你身所生的坐在你的宝座上。

但王的女儿约示巴将亚哈谢的儿子约阿施从那被杀的王子中偷出来，把他和他的奶妈藏在卧房里。约示巴是约兰王的女儿，亚哈谢的妹妹，祭司耶何耶大的妻子。她藏了约阿施，躲避亚她利雅，免受杀害。
