Nevertheless, because of the covenant the Lord had made with David, the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David. He had promised to maintain a lamp for him and his descendants forever.

But the Lord didn’t want to destroy the royal family of David. That’s because the Lord had made a covenant with him. The Lord had promised to keep the lamp of David’s kingdom burning brightly. The Lord had promised that for David and his children after him forever.

Yet the Lord was not willing to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and since he had promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons forever.

But the Lord did not want to destroy David’s dynasty, for he had made a covenant with David and promised that his descendants would continue to rule, shining like a lamp forever.

你寿终正寝、与祖先同眠之后，我必立你的后裔接替你的王位，使他江山稳固。他必为我的名建造圣殿，我必使他的王位坚立，直到永远。我要做他的父亲，他要做我的儿子。如果他犯了罪，我必用人的杖、世人的鞭子来惩治他，但我的慈爱却不会像离开从你面前被废的扫罗那样离开他。你的家和你的国必在我面前永远坚立，你的王位必永远稳固。’”拿单就把所听到的启示全部告诉大卫。

但我不会全部夺走，为了我仆人大卫和我拣选的耶路撒冷，我会留下一个支派给你儿子。”

在祂仆人大卫的家族中为我们兴起了一位大能的拯救者，

照亮那些生活在黑暗中和死亡阴影下的人，带领我们走平安的道路。”

企图攻打并瓜分犹大，改立他比勒的儿子为王。但主耶和华说，“‘这阴谋必无法得逞。

我要永远用慈爱待他，我与他立的约永不更改。我要使他的后裔永无穷尽，让他的王位与天同存。如果他的后代背弃我的律法，不遵行我的典章，触犯我的律例，不守我的诫命，我就会因他们的罪用杖惩罚他们，用鞭子责打他们。但我不会收回我的慈爱，也不会背弃我的信实。我必不毁约，也不食言。

我必使大卫的后裔在那里做王，我必为我所膏立的预备明灯。我必使他的仇敌满面羞愧，但他头上的王冠必光芒四射。”

“这是耶和华说的，‘除非你们能废除我与白昼黑夜所立的约，叫白昼黑夜不再按时更替，才能废除我与我仆人大卫所立的约，使他的王位后继无人，也才能废除我与事奉我的利未祭司所立的约。我要使我仆人大卫的后裔和事奉我的利未人像天上的星和海边的沙一样不可胜数。’”耶和华对耶利米说：“你听见了吗？人们说，‘耶和华已经弃绝了祂所拣选的以色列和犹大两个国家。’他们藐视我的子民，视他们为亡国之民。然而，耶和华说，‘正如我决不废弃我所定的昼夜交替和天地运行之律，我也决不弃绝雅各的后裔，不弃绝我仆人大卫的后裔。我必让大卫的后裔做王统治亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的子孙，因为我必使被掳的人回到故土，恩待他们。’”

你废弃与他所立的约，把他的冠冕扔在尘土中。

我的家在上帝面前不正是如此吗？上帝与我立下永远的约，这约稳妥可靠。祂必拯救我，成全我的愿望。

洗鲁雅的儿子亚比筛赶来救驾，杀死了非利士巨人。这事以后，大卫的部下向他起誓说：“你绝不可再跟我们一起出战，免得以色列的灯熄灭。”

但耶和华因祂仆人大卫的缘故而不愿毁灭犹大，因为祂曾应许让大卫的子孙永远做王。

耶和华曾向大卫起了永不废弃的誓说：“我必使你的后代继承你的王位。

但约兰王的女儿、亚哈谢的妹妹约示芭把亚哈谢的儿子约阿施从将要被杀的王子中偷出来，将他和他的乳母藏在一间卧室里躲避亚她利雅的杀害。约示芭是耶何耶大祭司的妻子。
