這事以後，耶和華使約蘭患了無法醫治的腸病，日益加重，兩年後腸子掉了出來，他痛苦地死去了。他的百姓沒有像對待他祖先那樣向他焚火致哀。

「在耶和華驅逐你們去的列國，你們的下場將很可怕，受盡嘲笑和譏諷。

猶大用作惡得來的錢買了一塊田，他頭朝下栽倒在那裡，肚破腸流。

你們必看見可怕之事，以致心中充滿恐懼，早上盼望天黑，晚上盼望天亮。

「祂要使你們患埃及的膿瘡、腫瘤和癬疥，無藥可治。

希律沒有把榮耀歸給上帝，主的天使立刻懲罰他，他當場被蟲子咬死了。

如果她曾與人通姦，背叛了丈夫，這可帶來咒詛的苦水進入她體內後，會引起劇痛，使她肚腹腫脹、大腿消瘦、不能生育，她也將被同胞咒詛。

還使一切未記在這律法書上的疾病和災難降在你們身上，直到消滅你們。

祂必使你們及子孫遭遇嚴重而長久的災難和疾病，

他咒詛成性，願咒詛如水侵入他的身體，如油浸透他的骨頭。
