Instead, you have been as evil as the kings of Israel. You have led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship idols, just as King Ahab did in Israel. And you have even killed your own brothers, men who were better than you.

而是重蹈以色列诸王的覆辙，与亚哈家一样，引诱犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民与假神苟合，还杀了比你好的兄弟。

却随从了以色列诸王的道路，使犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民行邪淫，好像亚哈家行邪淫一样；又杀了你父家比你良善的众兄弟；

乃從以色列列王之道、使猶大人及耶路撒冷居民狥欲、如亞哈家然、又戮爾父家諸弟、愈於爾者、

乃效以色列列王尤、使猶大族、耶路撒冷民、狥私欲、拜偶像、與亞哈家無異、亦因爾殺愈己之昆弟、

乃效以色列列王之所為、使猶大人與耶路撒冷居民行邪、與亞哈家無異、又在爾父家殺愈爾之諸弟、

But you have followed the ways of the kings of Israel, and you have led Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab did. You have also murdered your own brothers, members of your own family, men who were better than you.

Instead, you have followed the ways of the kings of Israel. You have led Judah and the people of Jerusalem to worship other gods, just as the royal family of Ahab did. Also, you have murdered your own brothers. They were members of your own family. They were better men than you are.

but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel and have enticed Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem into whoredom, as the house of Ahab led Israel into whoredom, and also you have killed your brothers, of your father’s house, who were better than you,

but have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, have caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves like the house of Ahab prostituted itself, and also have killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you,

but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to be unfaithful as the house of Ahab was unfaithful, and you have also killed your brothers, your own family, who were better than you,

But when Jehoram had become solidly established as king, he killed all his brothers and some of the other leaders of Judah.

He had built pagan shrines in the hill country of Judah and had led the people of Jerusalem and Judah to give themselves to pagan gods and to go astray.

But Ahab son of Omri did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, even more than any of the kings before him.And as though it were not enough to follow the sinful example of Jeroboam, he married Jezebel, the daughter of King Ethbaal of the Sidonians, and he began to bow down in worship of Baal.First Ahab built a temple and an altar for Baal in Samaria.Then he set up an Asherah pole. He did more to provoke the anger of the Lord, the God of Israel, than any of the other kings of Israel before him.

But Jehoram followed the example of the kings of Israel and was as wicked as King Ahab, for he had married one of Ahab’s daughters. So Jehoram did what was evil in the Lord’s sight.

She saw that I divorced faithless Israel because of her adultery. But that treacherous sister Judah had no fear, and now she, too, has left me and given herself to prostitution.Israel treated it all so lightly— she thought nothing of committing adultery by worshiping idols made of wood and stone. So now the land has been polluted.

The Lord said to Moses,“ You are about to die and join your ancestors. After you are gone, these people will begin to worship foreign gods, the gods of the land where they are going. They will abandon me and break my covenant that I have made with them.

“ You must not make a treaty of any kind with the people living in the land. They lust after their gods, offering sacrifices to them. They will invite you to join them in their sacrificial meals, and you will go with them.

In this way, God punished Abimelech for the evil he had done against his father by murdering his seventy brothers.God also punished the men of Shechem for all their evil. So the curse of Jotham son of Gideon was fulfilled.

“ Do as he said,” the king replied.“ Kill him there beside the altar and bury him. This will remove the guilt of Joab’s senseless murders from me and from my father’s family.The Lord will repay him for the murders of two men who were more righteous and better than he. For my father knew nothing about the deaths of Abner son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and of Amasa son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.May their blood be on Joab and his descendants forever, and may the Lord grant peace forever to David, his descendants, his dynasty, and his throne.”

King Joram demanded,“ Do you come in peace, Jehu?” Jehu replied,“ How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?”

But Omri did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, even more than any of the kings before him.

But the Lord said,“ What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground!Now you are cursed and banished from the ground, which has swallowed your brother’s blood.No longer will the ground yield good crops for you, no matter how hard you work! From now on you will be a homeless wanderer on the earth.”

Speaking among themselves, they said,“ Clearly we are being punished because of what we did to Joseph long ago. We saw his anguish when he pleaded for his life, but we wouldn’t listen. That’s why we’re in this trouble.”“ Didn’t I tell you not to sin against the boy?” Reuben asked.“ But you wouldn’t listen. And now we have to answer for his blood!”

Look! The Lord is coming from heaven to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will no longer hide those who have been killed. They will be brought out for all to see.

“ What sorrow awaits you who build cities with money gained through murder and corruption!
