有先知以利亞之書至曰、爾祖大衛之上帝耶和華云、因爾不循爾父約沙法、與猶大王亞撒之道、

或以先知以利亞書、陳於王、書畧曰、爾祖大闢之上帝耶和華云、因爾不從猶大王亞撒、及父約沙法之道、

先知以利亞遺書約蘭曰、主爾祖大衛之天主如是云、爾不行爾父約沙法之道、與猶大王亞撒之道、

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said:“ This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says:‘ You have not followed the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah.

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet. In it, Elijah said,“ The Lord is the God of your father David. The Lord says,‘ You have not followed the ways of your own father Jehoshaphat or of Asa, the king of Judah.

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father,‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Then Elijah the prophet wrote Jehoram this letter:“ This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: You have not followed the good example of your father, Jehoshaphat, or your grandfather King Asa of Judah.

Then a letter came to Jehoram from the prophet Elijah, saying: This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of King Asa of Judah

Then a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ This is what the Lord, the God of your father David says:‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat and the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says the Lord God of your father David: Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, saying: This is what Yahweh, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of Asa king of Judah

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Jehoram received this letter from Elijah the prophet:“ This is what the LORD God of your ancestor David says:‘ You have not followed in the footsteps of your father Jehoshaphat and of King Asa of Judah,

A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ Yahweh, the God of David your father, says,‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

耶和华与约沙法同在，因为他行他祖先大卫从前所行的道，不去寻求诸巴力，只寻求他父亲的上帝，遵行他的诫命，不效法以色列人的行为。

亚撒行耶和华—他上帝眼中看为善为正的事，除掉外邦的祭坛和丘坛，打碎柱像，砍下亚舍拉，吩咐犹大人寻求耶和华—他们列祖的上帝，遵行他的律法和诫命，又在犹大各城镇除掉丘坛和香坛。在他治理下，国中太平。

耶和华要用旋风接以利亚升天的时候，以利亚与以利沙从吉甲往前行。

亚撒效法他的高祖父大卫行耶和华眼中看为正的事，

他们边走边说话的时候，看哪，有火马和火焰车出现，把二人隔开，以利亚就乘旋风升天去了。

“所写的文字是：‘弥尼，弥尼，提客勒，乌法珥新。’解释是这样：弥尼就是上帝数算你国的年日到此完毕。提客勒就是你被秤在天平上，秤出你的亏欠来。毗勒斯就是你的国要分裂，归给玛代人和波斯人。”于是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍给但以理穿上，把金链给他戴在颈项上，又传令使他在国中位列第三。

犹底念了三、四段，王就用文士的刀把书卷割破，丢在火盆里，直到全卷在火中烧尽了。

约沙法效法他父亲亚撒所行的道，不偏离左右，行耶和华眼中看为正的事。只是丘坛还没有废去，百姓仍在那里献祭烧香。

当时，忽然有人的指头出现，在灯台对面王宫粉刷的墙上写字。王看见写字的指头，

“你要取一书卷，把我对你所说攻击以色列和犹大，并各国的一切话，从我对你说话的那日，就是从约西亚的日子起直到今日，都写在其上；

“你再取一书卷，将犹大王约雅敬所烧前一卷书上原有的一切话写在上面。论到犹大王约雅敬你要说，耶和华如此说：你烧了这书卷，说：‘你为什么在上面写着，巴比伦王必要来毁灭这地，使这地绝了人民和牲畜呢？’所以耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬说：他后裔中必没有人坐在大卫的宝座上；他的尸首必被抛弃，白天受炎热，黑夜受寒霜。我必因他和他后裔，并他臣仆的罪孽惩罚他们。我要使我所说的一切灾祸临到他们和耶路撒冷的居民，并犹大人；只是他们不肯听从。”于是，耶利米又取一书卷交给尼利亚的儿子巴录文士，他就从耶利米的口中写了犹大王约雅敬在火中所烧书卷上的一切话，另外又添了许多相仿的话。

我观看，看哪，有一只手向我伸来；看哪，手中有一书卷。他在我面前展开书卷，它内外都写着字，上面所写的有哀号、叹息、悲痛的话。
