或以先知以利亞書、陳於王、書畧曰、爾祖大闢之上帝耶和華云、因爾不從猶大王亞撒、及父約沙法之道、

先知以利亞遺書約蘭曰、主爾祖大衛之天主如是云、爾不行爾父約沙法之道、與猶大王亞撒之道、

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet, which said:“ This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says:‘ You have not followed the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah.

Jehoram received a letter from Elijah the prophet. In it, Elijah said,“ The Lord is the God of your father David. The Lord says,‘ You have not followed the ways of your own father Jehoshaphat or of Asa, the king of Judah.

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father,‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Then Elijah the prophet wrote Jehoram this letter:“ This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: You have not followed the good example of your father, Jehoshaphat, or your grandfather King Asa of Judah.

Then a letter came to Jehoram from the prophet Elijah, saying: This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of King Asa of Judah

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus says the Lord God of your father David: Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, saying: This is what Yahweh, the God of your ancestor David says:“ Because you have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or in the ways of Asa king of Judah

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

Jehoram received this letter from Elijah the prophet:“ This is what the LORD God of your ancestor David says:‘ You have not followed in the footsteps of your father Jehoshaphat and of King Asa of Judah,

A letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying,“ Yahweh, the God of David your father, says,‘ Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father David’s earlier days and did not seek the Baals,but sought the God of his father, followed His commandments, and did not act as Israel did.

And Asa did what was good and right in the sight of the Lord his God,for he removed the foreign altars and high places, tore down the memorial stones, cut down the Asherim,and commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers and to comply with the Law and the commandment.He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah. And the kingdom was undisturbed under him.

Now it came about, when the Lord was about to bring Elijah up by a whirlwind to heaven, that Elijah left Gilgal with Elisha.

Now Asa did what was right in the sight of the Lord, like his father David.

And as they were walking along and talking, behold, a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and they separated the two of them. Then Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.

“ Now this is the inscription that was written:‘ Menē, Menē, Tekēl, Upharsin.’This is the interpretation of the message:‘ Menē’— God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it.‘ Tekēl’— you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient.‘ Perēs’— your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”Then Belshazzar gave orders, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now had authority as the third ruler in the kingdom.

And when Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut it with a scribe’s knife and threw it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all of the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.

He walked entirely in the way of his father Asa; he did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord. However, the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

Suddenly the fingers of a human hand emerged and began writing opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, and the king saw the back of the hand that did the writing.

“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

“ Take again another scroll and write on it all the previous words that were on the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah burned.And concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You have burned this scroll, saying,‘ Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and will make mankind and animals disappear from it?’ ”Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah:“ He shall have no one to sit on the throne of David, and his dead body shall be thrown out to the heat of the day and the frost of the night.I will also punish him, his descendants, and his servants for their wrongdoing, and I will bring on them and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the people of Judah all the disaster that I have declared to them— but they did not listen.” ’ ”Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch the son of Neriah, and he wrote on it at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.

Then I looked, and behold, a hand was extended to me; and behold, a scroll was in it.When He spread it out before me, it was written on the front and back, and written on it were songs of mourning, sighing, and woe.
