He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat followed the ways of his father Asa. He didn’t wander away from them. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

He walked in the way of Asa his father and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.

Jehoshaphat was a good king, following the ways of his father, Asa. He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.

He walked in the ways of Asa his father; he did not turn away from it but did what was right in the LORD’s sight.

He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not deviate from it, doing right in the sight of the Lord.

他口中的言语尽是罪孽诡诈，他不再有智慧，也不再行善。

耶和华与约沙法同在，因为他行他祖先大卫从前所行的道，不去寻求诸巴力，只寻求他父亲的神，遵行他的诫命，不效法以色列人的行为。所以耶和华坚定约沙法手中的国，犹大众人给他进贡；约沙法大有财富和尊荣。他乐意遵行耶和华的道，并且从犹大再次除掉一切丘坛和亚舍拉。

亚撒效法他的高祖父大卫行耶和华眼中看为正的事，

亚撒呼求耶和华—他的神说：“耶和华啊，在强弱之间，惟有你能帮助。耶和华—我们的神啊，求你帮助我们，因为我们仰赖你，奉你的名来抵挡这大军。耶和华啊，你是我们的神，不要让人胜过你。”于是耶和华击打古实人，使他们败在亚撒和犹大人面前，古实人就逃跑了。亚撒和跟随他的军兵追赶他们，直到基拉耳。古实人被杀的很多，无法复原，因为他们在耶和华与他军兵面前被击溃。犹大人夺了许多财物，

因为我遵守耶和华的道，未曾作恶离开我的神。

那时，哈拿尼先见来见犹大王亚撒，对他说：“因你仰赖亚兰王，没有仰赖耶和华—你的神，所以亚兰王的军兵逃脱了你的手。古实人和路比人的军队不是非常强大吗？他们的战车骑兵不是极多吗？只因你仰赖耶和华，他就将他们交在你手里。因为耶和华的眼目遍察全地，要坚固向他存纯正之心的人。你在这事上行得愚昧；因此，以后你必有战争。”亚撒恼恨先见，为了这事向他发怒，将他囚在监里。那时亚撒也虐待一些百姓。亚撒自始至终的事迹，看哪，都写在《犹大和以色列诸王记》上。亚撒作王三十九年的时候患了脚疾，非常严重。他生病的时候没有求耶和华，只求医生。

亚撒行耶和华—他神眼中看为善为正的事，除掉外邦的祭坛和丘坛，打碎柱像，砍下亚舍拉，吩咐犹大人寻求耶和华—他们列祖的神，遵行他的律法和诫命，又在犹大各城镇除掉丘坛和香坛。在他治理下，国中太平。
