Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.

Jehoshaphat was alarmed. So he decided to ask the Lord for advice. He told all the people of Judah to go without eating.

Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting.

Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day.Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.And He said,“ Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said,“ I will not let You go unless You bless me!”So He said to him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Jacob.”And He said,“ Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to the Lord and took vows.

Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions.For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying,“ The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.”So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.

And they said to him,“ Thus says Hezekiah:‘ This day is a day of trouble and rebuke and blasphemy; for the children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth.It may be that the Lord your God will hear the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which the Lord your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.And Isaiah said to them,“ Thus you shall say to your master,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.

And after the Levites left, those from all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heart to seek the Lord God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers.

Then all the children of Israel, that is, all the people, went up and came to the house of God and wept. They sat there before the Lord and fasted that day until evening; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.In God( I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?
