The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

All the surrounding kingdoms began to have respect for God. They had heard how the Lord had fought against Israel’s enemies.

And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them.

The terror of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.

And the dread of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

For the Lord had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses— the noise of a great army; so they said to one another,“ Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!”

So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel.

and said to the men:“ I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

So they said to him:“ From a very far country your servants have come, because of the name of the Lord your God; for we have heard of His fame, and all that He did in Egypt,and all that He did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan— to Sihon king of Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.Therefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying,‘ Take provisions with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say to them,“ We are your servants; now therefore, make a covenant with us.”’

“ I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.
