All the surrounding kingdoms began to have respect for God. They had heard how the Lord had fought against Israel’s enemies.

And the fear of God came on all the kingdoms of the countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

When all the surrounding kingdoms heard that the Lord himself had fought against the enemies of Israel, the fear of God came over them.

The terror of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.

And the dread of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.

By the power of your arm they will be as still as a stone— until your people pass by, Lord, until the people you bought pass by.

for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another,“ Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!”

Now when all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, their hearts melted in fear and they no longer had the courage to face the Israelites.

and said to them,“ I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you.We have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed.When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.

They answered:“ Your servants have come from a very distant country because of the fame of the Lord your God. For we have heard reports of him: all that he did in Egypt,and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan— Sihon king of Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth.And our elders and all those living in our country said to us,‘ Take provisions for your journey; go and meet them and say to them,“ We are your servants; make a treaty with us.”’

“ I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run.
