So Jehoshaphat and his men went to carry off their plunder, and they found among them a great amount of equipment and clothing and also articles of value— more than they could take away. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it.

主耶和華說：這日事情臨近，也必成就，乃是我所說的日子。「住以色列城邑的人必出去撿器械，就是大小盾牌、弓箭、梃杖、槍矛，都當柴燒火，直燒七年，

基甸又對他們說：「我有一件事求你們：請你們各人將所奪的耳環給我。」（原來仇敵是以實瑪利人，都是戴金耳環的。）他們說：「我們情願給你」，就鋪開一件外衣，各人將所奪的耳環丟在其上。基甸所要出來的金耳環重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外還有米甸王所戴的月環、耳墜，和所穿的紫色衣服，並駱駝項上的金鍊子。

那時，他們彼此說：「我們所做的不好！今日是有好信息的日子，我們竟不作聲！若等到天亮，罪必臨到我們。來吧，我們與王家報信去！」他們就去叫守城門的，告訴他們說：「我們到了亞蘭人的營，不見一人在那裏，也無人聲，只有拴着的馬和驢，帳棚都照舊。」守城門的叫了眾守門的人來，他們就進去與王家報信。王夜間起來，對臣僕說：「我告訴你們亞蘭人向我們如何行。他們知道我們飢餓，所以離營，埋伏在田野，說：『以色列人出城的時候，我們就活捉他們，得以進城。』」有一個臣僕對王說：「我們不如用城裏剩下之馬中的五匹馬（馬和城裏剩下的以色列人都是一樣，快要滅絕），打發人去窺探。」於是取了兩輛車和馬，王差人去追尋亞蘭軍，說：「你們去窺探窺探。」他們就追尋到約旦河，看見滿道上都是亞蘭人急跑時丟棄的衣服器具，使者就回來報告王。眾人就出去，擄掠亞蘭人的營盤。於是一細亞細麵賣銀一舍客勒，二細亞大麥也賣銀一舍客勒，正如耶和華所說的。

凡亞瑪力人所擄去的，無論大小、兒女、財物，大衛都奪回來，沒有失落一個。大衛所奪來的牛羣羊羣，跟隨他的人趕在原有的羣畜前邊，說：「這是大衛的掠物。」

但各婦女必向她的鄰舍，並居住在她家裏的女人，要金器銀器和衣裳，好給你們的兒女穿戴。這樣你們就把埃及人的財物奪去了。」

對他們說：「你們要存留這一切婦女的活命嗎？

統兵的君王逃跑了，逃跑了；在家等候的婦女分受所奪的。

比珍珠寶貴；你一切所喜愛的，都不足與比較。

以色列人照着摩西的話行，向埃及人要金器、銀器，和衣裳。耶和華叫百姓在埃及人眼前蒙恩，以致埃及人給他們所要的。他們就把埃及人的財物奪去了。

然而，靠着愛我們的主，在這一切的事上已經得勝有餘了。
