主耶和华说：这日事情临近，也必成就，乃是我所说的日子。“住以色列城邑的人必出去捡器械，就是大小盾牌、弓箭、梃杖、枪矛，都当柴烧火，直烧七年，

基甸又对他们说：“我有一件事求你们：请你们各人将所夺的耳环给我。”原来仇敌是以实玛利人，都是戴金耳环的。他们说：“我们情愿给你”，就铺开一件外衣，各人将所夺的耳环丢在其上。基甸所要出来的金耳环重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外还有米甸王所戴的月环、耳坠，和所穿的紫色衣服，并骆驼项上的金链子。

那时，他们彼此说：“我们所做的不好！今日是有好信息的日子，我们竟不作声！若等到天亮，罪必临到我们。来吧，我们与王家报信去！”他们就去叫守城门的，告诉他们说：“我们到了亚兰人的营，不见一人在那里，也无人声，只有拴着的马和驴，帐棚都照旧。”守城门的叫了众守门的人来，他们就进去与王家报信。王夜间起来，对臣仆说：“我告诉你们亚兰人向我们如何行。他们知道我们饥饿，所以离营，埋伏在田野，说：‘以色列人出城的时候，我们就活捉他们，得以进城。’”有一个臣仆对王说：“我们不如用城里剩下之马中的五匹马（马和城里剩下的以色列人都是一样，快要灭绝），打发人去窥探。”于是取了两辆车和马，王差人去追寻亚兰军，说：“你们去窥探窥探。”他们就追寻到约旦河，看见满道上都是亚兰人急跑时丢弃的衣服器具，使者就回来报告王。众人就出去，掳掠亚兰人的营盘。于是一细亚细面卖银一舍客勒，二细亚大麦也卖银一舍客勒，正如耶和华所说的。

凡亚玛力人所掳去的，无论大小、儿女、财物，大卫都夺回来，没有失落一个。大卫所夺来的牛群羊群，跟随他的人赶在原有的群畜前边，说：“这是大卫的掠物。”

但各妇女必向她的邻舍，并居住在她家里的女人，要金器银器和衣裳，好给你们的儿女穿戴。这样你们就把埃及人的财物夺去了。”

对他们说：“你们要存留这一切妇女的活命吗？

统兵的君王逃跑了，逃跑了；在家等候的妇女分受所夺的。

比珍珠宝贵；你一切所喜爱的，都不足与比较。

以色列人照着摩西的话行，向埃及人要金器、银器，和衣裳。耶和华叫百姓在埃及人眼前蒙恩，以致埃及人给他们所要的。他们就把埃及人的财物夺去了。

然而，靠着爱我们的主，在这一切的事上已经得胜有余了。
