神啊！你在古時，在我們列祖的日子所作的事，我們親耳聽見了，我們的列祖也給我們述說過。

來吧，我們來向耶和華歌唱，向拯救我們的磐石歡呼。我們要來到他面前稱謝他，用詩歌向他歡呼。

吹號的和歌唱的都一致同聲地讚美稱謝耶和華。他們吹號、敲鈸，用各種樂器高聲讚美耶和華，說：“耶和華是良善的，他的慈愛永遠長存。”那時雲彩充滿了那殿，就是耶和華的殿。

大衛和軍隊的領袖，也給亞薩、希幔和耶杜頓的子孫分派了任務，叫他們用琴瑟響鈸說預言。他們任職的人數如下：亞薩的兒子有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅和亞薩利拉；亞薩的兒子都歸亞薩指揮，遵照王的旨意說預言。至於耶杜頓，他的兒子有基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅和瑪他提雅，共六人，都歸他們的父親耶杜頓指揮。耶杜頓用琴說預言，稱謝和讚美耶和華。至於希幔，他的兒子有布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、細布業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提．以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提和瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是王的先見，照著神的話高舉他（“高舉他”原文作“高舉角”）。神賜給希幔十四個兒子，三個女兒。這些人都歸他們的父親指揮，在耶和華的殿裡歌頌，用響鈸和琴瑟在神的殿事奉。亞薩、耶杜頓和希幔都是由王指揮的。他們和他們的親族，在歌頌耶和華的事上受過特別訓練，精於歌唱的，人數共有二百八十八人。

又有瑪西雅、示瑪雅、以利亞撒、烏西、約哈難、瑪基雅、以攔和以謝；歌唱者在伊斯拉希雅領導下，高聲歌唱。那一天，眾人獻上極大的祭祀，而且非常歡樂，因為神使他們大大歡樂；連婦女和孩童也都歡樂；耶路撒冷歡樂的聲音在老遠的地方都可以聽見。

希幔、耶杜頓和他們一起吹號敲鈸，以及演奏各種樂器，大聲歌頌神。耶杜頓的子孫負責守門。

很多年老的祭司、利未人和族長，曾經見過先前的殿，眼見這殿的根基再次奠立，就放聲大哭，但也有許多人高聲歡呼，以致分不清到底是歡呼聲或哭聲。因為眾人都大聲呼喊，這聲音在很遠的地方也可以聽見。

要向神我們的力量歡呼，要向雅各的神大聲呼叫。
