I look to you for help, O Sovereign Lord. You are my refuge; don’t let them kill me.

Therefore, I have not sinned against you. Rather, you have wronged me by attacking me. Let the Lord, who is judge, decide today which of us is right— Israel or Ammon.”

We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it.In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.

Arise, O Lord! Do not let mere mortals defy you! Judge the nations!

“ Indeed, the Lord will give justice to his people, and he will change his mind about his servants, when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free.

Declare me innocent, O God! Defend me against these ungodly people. Rescue me from these unjust liars.

The Lord judges the nations. Declare me righteous, O Lord, for I am innocent, O Most High!

He will not falter or lose heart until justice prevails throughout the earth. Even distant lands beyond the sea will wait for his instruction.”

Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war.

Arise, O Lord, in anger! Stand up against the fury of my enemies! Wake up, my God, and bring justice!

The Lord will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes. They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.
