所羅門遣人謂推羅王戶蘭曰、昔爾運香柏於我父大衛、以建宮室而居、今請爾亦如是待我、

所羅門遣人、告推羅王希蘭曰、昔爾饋柏香木於我父大闢、以建宮室、

所羅門遣人告推羅王戶蘭、戶蘭即希蘭曰、昔王以柏香木餽我父大衛、得建宮室以居之、願王待我亦如是、

Solomon sent this message to Hiram king of Tyre:“ Send me cedar logs as you did for my father David when you sent him cedar to build a palace to live in.

And Solomon sent word to Hiram the king of Tyre:“ As you dealt with David my father and sent him cedar to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me.

Solomon also sent this message to King Hiram at Tyre:“ Send me cedar logs as you did for my father, David, when he was building his palace.

Then Solomon sent word to King Hiram of Tyre: Do for me what you did for my father David. You sent him cedars to build him a house to live in.

Then Solomon sent word to Huram the king of Tyre, saying,“ As you dealt with my father David and sent him cedars to build him a house to live in, do it for me.

Then Solomon sent to Hiram king of Tyre, saying: As you have dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me.

And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.

Then Solomon sent word to King Hiram of Tyre: Do for me what you did for my father David. You sent him cedars to build him a house to live in.

Solomon sent a message to King Huram of Tyre:“ Help me as you did my father David, when you sent him cedar logs for the construction of his palace.

推羅王希蘭是大衛平生的好友。希蘭聽見以色列人膏所羅門接續他父親作王，就派臣僕到他那裏。所羅門也派人到希蘭那裏，說：「你知道我父親大衛因四圍的戰爭，不能為耶和華－他神的名建殿，直等到耶和華使仇敵都服在他腳下。現在耶和華－我的神使我四圍太平，沒有仇敵，沒有災禍。看哪，我吩咐要為耶和華－我神的名建殿，是照耶和華向我父親大衛說的：『我必使你兒子接續你，坐你的王位，他必為我的名建殿。』現在，請吩咐人在黎巴嫩為我砍伐香柏木，我的僕人必幫助你的僕人。至於你僕人的工錢，我必照你所定的給你。你知道，在我們中間沒有人像西頓人那樣擅長砍伐樹木。」希蘭聽見所羅門的話，就很高興，說：「今日耶和華是應當稱頌的，因為他賜給大衛一個有智慧的兒子，治理這眾多的百姓。」希蘭送信給所羅門，說：「你派人向我所提的那事，我已聽見了；論到香柏木和松木，我必照你一切的心願去做。我的僕人必把這木料從黎巴嫩運到海裏，我會把它們紮成筏子浮在海上，運到你告訴我的地方，在那裏拆開，你就可以收取；你也要照我的心願做，把食物給我的家。」於是希蘭照所羅門的心願，給他香柏木和松木；所羅門給希蘭二萬歌珥麥子，二十歌珥搗成的油，作他家的食物。所羅門每年都是這樣給希蘭。
