Solomon sent a message to King Huram of Tyre:“ Help me as you did my father David, when you sent him cedar logs for the construction of his palace.

所羅門遣人謂推羅王戶蘭曰、昔爾運香柏於我父大衛、以建宮室而居、今請爾亦如是待我、

所羅門遣人、告推羅王希蘭曰、昔爾饋柏香木於我父大闢、以建宮室、

所羅門遣人告推羅王戶蘭、戶蘭即希蘭曰、昔王以柏香木餽我父大衛、得建宮室以居之、願王待我亦如是、

Solomon sent this message to Hiram king of Tyre:“ Send me cedar logs as you did for my father David when you sent him cedar to build a palace to live in.

Solomon sent a message to Hiram. Hiram was king of Tyre. Solomon said,“ Send me cedar logs, just as you did for my father David. You sent him cedar to build a palace to live in.

And Solomon sent word to Hiram the king of Tyre:“ As you dealt with David my father and sent him cedar to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me.

Solomon also sent this message to King Hiram at Tyre:“ Send me cedar logs as you did for my father, David, when he was building his palace.

Then Solomon sent word to King Hiram of Tyre: Do for me what you did for my father David. You sent him cedars to build him a house to live in.

Then Solomon sent word to Huram the king of Tyre, saying,“ As you dealt with my father David and sent him cedars to build him a house to live in, do it for me.

Then Solomon sent to Hiram king of Tyre, saying: As you have dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in, so deal with me.

And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.

Then Solomon sent word to King Hiram of Tyre: Do for me what you did for my father David. You sent him cedars to build him a house to live in.

And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein,[ even so deal with me].

( 5: 15) King Hiram of Tyre sent messengers to Solomon when he heard that he had been anointed king in his father’s place.( Hiram had always been an ally of David.)Solomon then sent this message to Hiram:“ You know that my father David was unable to build a temple to honor the LORD his God, for he was busy fighting battles on all fronts while the LORD subdued his enemies.But now the LORD my God has made me secure on all fronts; there is no adversary or dangerous threat.So I have decided to build a temple to honor the LORD my God, as the LORD instructed my father David,‘ Your son, whom I will put on your throne in your place, is the one who will build a temple to honor me.’So now order some cedars of Lebanon to be cut for me. My servants will work with your servants. I will pay your servants whatever you say is appropriate, for you know that we have no one among us who knows how to cut down trees like the Sidonians.”When Hiram heard Solomon’s message, he was very happy. He said,“ The LORD is worthy of praise today because he has given David a wise son to rule over this great nation.”Hiram then sent this message to Solomon:“ I received the message you sent to me. I will give you all the cedars and evergreens you need.My servants will bring the timber down from Lebanon to the sea. I will send it by sea in raft-like bundles to the place you designate. There I will separate the logs and you can carry them away. In exchange you will supply the food I need for my royal court.”So Hiram supplied the cedars and evergreens Solomon needed,and Solomon supplied Hiram annually with 20,000 cors of wheat as provision for his royal court, as well as 20,000 baths of pure olive oil.
