Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them,“ Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?” So they said,“ Go up, for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.”

So the king of Israel brought together the prophets— four hundred men— and asked them,“ Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?”“ Go,” they answered,“ for God will give it into the king’s hand.”

So the king of Israel brought 400 prophets together. He asked them,“ Should we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or not?”“ Go,” they answered.“ God will hand it over to you.”

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them,“ Shall we go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said,“ Go up, for God will give it into the hand of the king.”

So the king of Israel summoned the prophets, 400 of them, and asked them,“ Should we go to war against Ramoth gilead, or should I hold back?” They all replied,“ Yes, go right ahead! God will give the king victory.”

So the king of Israel gathered the prophets, four hundred men, and asked them,“ Should we go to Ramoth-gilead for war or should I refrain?” They replied,“ March up, and God will hand it over to the king.”

So the king of Israel assembled the prophets, four hundred men, and said to them,“ Should we go to battle against Ramoth gilead, or should I refrain?” And they said,“ Go up, for God will hand it over to the king.”

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramoth- gilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.

So the king of Israel gathered the prophets, 400 men, and asked them,“ Should we go to Ramoth-gilead for war or should I refrain?” They replied,“ March up, and God will hand it over to the king.”

Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver[ it] into the king’s hand.

So the king of Israel assembled 400 prophets and asked them,“ Should we attack Ramoth Gilead or not?” They said,“ Attack! God will hand it over to the king.”

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them,“ Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said,“ Go up; for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”

They continually say to those who despise Me,‘ The Lord has said,“ You shall have peace”’; And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,‘ No evil shall come upon you.’”

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

Also I have seen a horrible thing in the prophets of Jerusalem: They commit adultery and walk in lies; They also strengthen the hands of evildoers, So that no one turns back from his wickedness. All of them are like Sodom to Me, And her inhabitants like Gomorrah.

Therefore I will give their wives to others, And their fields to those who will inherit them; Because from the least even to the greatest Everyone is given to covetousness; From the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely.For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying,‘ Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.

Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!O Israel, your prophets are like foxes in the deserts.You have not gone up into the gaps to build a wall for the house of Israel to stand in battle on the day of the Lord.They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord!’ But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed.Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say,‘ The Lord says,’ but I have not spoken.”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord GOD.“ My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God.“ Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace— and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar—say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down.Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you,‘ Where is the mortar with which you plastered it?’”Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it.So I will break down the wall you have plastered with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be uncovered; it will fall, and you shall be consumed in the midst of it. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.“ Thus will I accomplish My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it with untempered mortar; and I will say to you,‘ The wall is no more, nor those who plastered it,that is, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’” says the Lord God.

“ Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life.

Then Elisha said to the king of Israel,“ What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” But the king of Israel said to him,“ No, for the Lord has called these three kings together to deliver them into the hand of Moab.”

and said to Jeremiah the prophet,“ Please, let our petition be acceptable to you, and pray for us to the Lord your God, for all this remnant( since we are left but a few of many, as you can see),that the Lord your God may show us the way in which we should walk and the thing we should do.”

Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said,‘ I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him,‘ In what way?’So he said,‘ I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said,‘ You shall persuade him and also prevail; go out and do so.’

Her heads judge for a bribe, Her priests teach for pay, And her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the Lord, and say,“ Is not the Lord among us? No harm can come upon us.”

And it happened in the same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying,“ Thus speaks the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying:‘ I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.Within two full years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the LORD’s house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah who went to Babylon,’ says the Lord,‘ for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.’”Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of the Lord,and the prophet Jeremiah said,“ Amen! The Lord do so; the Lord perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the LORD’s house and all who were carried away captive, from Babylon to this place.Nevertheless hear now this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people:The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries and great kingdoms— of war and disaster and pestilence.As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent.”Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck and broke it.And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years.’” And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.Now the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,“ Go and tell Hananiah, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You have broken the yokes of wood, but you have made in their place yokes of iron.”For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:“ I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him. I have given him the beasts of the field also.”’”Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,“ Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, but you make this people trust in a lie.Therefore thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, I will cast you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have taught rebellion against the Lord.’”So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

Then Zedekiah the king sent and had Jeremiah the prophet brought to him at the third entrance of the house of the Lord. And the king said to Jeremiah,“ I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me.”Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ If I declare it to you, will you not surely put me to death? And if I give you advice, you will not listen to me.”So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying,“ As the Lord lives, who made our very souls, I will not put you to death, nor will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.”Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ Thus says the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel:‘ If you surely surrender to the king of Babylon’s princes, then your soul shall live; this city shall not be burned with fire, and you and your house shall live.But if you do not surrender to the king of Babylon’s princes, then this city shall be given into the hand of the Chaldeans; they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape from their hand.’”And Zedekiah the king said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have defected to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they abuse me.”But Jeremiah said,“ They shall not deliver you. Please, obey the voice of the Lord which I speak to you. So it shall be well with you, and your soul shall live.But if you refuse to surrender, this is the word that the Lord has shown me:‘ Now behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah’s house shall be surrendered to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women shall say:“ Your close friends have set upon you And prevailed against you; Your feet have sunk in the mire, And they have turned away again.”‘ so they shall surrender all your wives and children to the Chaldeans. You shall not escape from their hand, but shall be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon. And you shall cause this city to be burned with fire.’”Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ Let no one know of these words, and you shall not die.But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you and say to you,‘ Declare to us now what you have said to the king, and also what the king said to you; do not hide it from us, and we will not put you to death,’then you shall say to them,‘ I presented my request before the king, that he would not make me return to Jonathan’s house to die there.’”Then all the princes came to Jeremiah and asked him. And he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they stopped speaking with him, for the conversation had not been heard.Now Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken. And he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

If a man should walk in a false spirit And speak a lie, saying,‘ I will prophesy to you of wine and drink,’ Even he would be the prattler of this people.

For you were hypocrites in your hearts when you sent me to the Lord your God, saying,‘ Pray for us to the Lord our God, and according to all that the Lord your God says, so declare to us and we will do it.’

Then he came to the king; and the king said to him,“ Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?” And he said,“ Go and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand!”
