Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,‘ These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”

He said to the Levites who taught all Israel, who were holy to Yahweh,“ Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built. It will no longer be a burden on your shoulders. Now serve Yahweh your God, and his people Israel.

Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law; and the people stayed in their place.

For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the revelations of God.

Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God. Yahweh is one.You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart;and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote about me.

When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at his lodging. He explained to them, testifying about God’s Kingdom, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until evening.

“ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

After the reading of the law and the prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, speak.”

If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.

When Jesus had finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
