“ Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said,“ as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from me.”

“ Let’s make a peace treaty between us,” Asa said.“ My father and your father had made a peace treaty between them. Now I’m sending you silver and gold. So break your treaty with Baasha, the king of Israel. Then he’ll go back home.”

“ There is a covenant between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I am sending to you silver and gold. Go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.”

眾領袖對全會眾說：「我們已經指着耶和華－以色列的上帝向他們起誓，現在我們不能碰他們。我們要這樣對待他們，讓他們存活，免得因我們向他們所起的誓而憤怒臨到我們。」

他輕看誓言，背棄盟約，看哪，雖已投降，卻又做這一切的事，他必不能逃脫。所以主耶和華如此說：我指着我的永生起誓，他既輕看我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他頭上。

禍哉！那些下埃及求幫助的，他們仰賴馬匹，倚靠甚多的戰車，並倚靠強壯的騎兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問耶和華。其實，耶和華有智慧，他降災禍，並不撤回自己的話，卻要興起攻擊作惡之家，攻擊那幫助人作惡的。埃及人不過是人，並非上帝，他們的馬不過是血肉，並不是靈。耶和華一伸手，那幫助人的必絆跌，受幫助的也必跌倒，都一同滅亡。

摩西對亞倫說：「這百姓向你做了甚麼呢？你竟使他們陷入大罪中！」

頑梗不化的、言而無信的、無情無義的、不憐憫人的。他們雖知道上帝判定做這樣事的人是該死的，然而他們不但自己去做，還贊同別人去做。

你們不可與這地的居民立約，要拆毀他們的祭壇。』你們竟沒有聽從我的話。你們為何這樣做呢！

亞比米勒召了亞伯拉罕來，對他說：「你怎麼向我這樣做呢？我甚麼事得罪你，你竟使我和我的國陷在大罪中呢？你對我做了不該做的事了！」亞比米勒對亞伯拉罕說：「你看見甚麼才做這事呢？」

哈拿尼的兒子耶戶先見出來迎接約沙法王，對他說：「你怎麼可以幫助惡人，愛那恨耶和華的人呢？因此耶和華的憤怒臨到你了。

上帝的殿和偶像有甚麼相同？因為我們是永生上帝的殿，就如上帝曾說：「我要在他們中間居住來往；我要作他們的上帝，他們要作我的子民。」

他眼中藐視匪類，卻尊重那敬畏耶和華的人。他發了誓，雖然自己吃虧也不更改。

大衛王召了基遍人來，跟他們說話。基遍人不是以色列人，而是亞摩利人中所剩下的人。以色列人曾向他們起誓，掃羅卻為以色列人和猶大人大發熱心，追殺他們，為了要消滅他們。

以色列王亞哈問猶大王約沙法說：「你肯同我去攻打基列的拉末嗎？」他回答說：「你我不分彼此，我的軍隊就是你的軍隊，我們必與你一同去爭戰。」

沒有親情，抗拒和解，好說讒言，不能節制，性情兇暴，不愛良善，
