“ Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said,“ as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from me.”

眾首領對全體會眾說：“我們曾經指著耶和華以色列的神向他們起了誓，現在我們不能傷害他們。我們要這樣待他們，就是容他們存活，免得神的忿怒因我們向他們所起的誓，臨到我們身上。”

他藐視誓言，背棄條約；他已宣誓效忠，卻又行了這一切事，所以他必不能逃脫。因此主耶和華這樣說：我指著我的永生起誓：他既然藐視我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他的頭上。

那些下埃及求幫助，倚靠馬匹，倚靠眾多戰車，依靠十分強壯的馬兵，卻不仰望以色列的聖者，也不求問耶和華的，有禍了！耶和華是智慧的，他必降下災禍，決不收回自己的話，卻要起來攻擊作惡者之家，又攻擊那些助人作孽的。埃及人是人，並不是神；他們的馬匹是血肉，並不是靈；耶和華一伸手，那幫助人的就絆倒，那受幫助的也必仆倒，並且一同滅亡。

摩西對亞倫說：“這人民向你作了甚麼，你竟使他們陷在大罪裡呢？”

冥頑不靈的、不守信用的、冷酷無情的、沒有惻隱之心的。他們雖然明明知道行這些事的人，神判定他們是該死的，然而他們不單自己去行，也喜歡別人去行。

你們不可與這地的居民立約，要拆毀他們的祭壇。’你們竟沒有聽從我的話；你們作的是甚麼呢？

亞比米勒把亞伯拉罕召了來，對他說：“你為甚麼向我們這樣行呢？我在甚麼事上得罪了你，以致你給我和我的國帶來這個大罪呢？你對我作了不應該作的事。”亞比米勒又對亞伯拉罕說：“你為了甚麼緣故要這樣作呢？”

先見哈拿尼的兒子耶戶出來迎見約沙法王，對他說：“你怎能幫助惡人，喜愛那恨惡耶和華的人呢？因此耶和華的忿怒必臨到你身上。

神的殿和偶像怎能協調呢？我們就是永生神的殿，正如神說：“我要住在他們中間，在他們中間來往；我要作他們的神，他們要作我的子民。”

他眼中藐視卑鄙的人，卻尊重敬畏耶和華的人。他起了誓，縱然自己吃虧，也不更改。

原來基遍人不是以色列人，而是亞摩利人中餘剩的後人。以色列人曾經起誓與他們立約，但掃羅卻為以色列人和猶大人發熱心，設法要擊殺他們。王把基遍人召了來，對他們說話。

以色列王亞哈問猶大王約沙法：“你願意和我一同到基列的拉末去嗎？”他回答：“你我不分彼此；我的人民就是你的人民；我必和你一同作戰。”
