众首领对全体会众说：“我们曾经指着耶和华以色列的神向他们起了誓，现在我们不能伤害他们。我们要这样待他们，就是容他们存活，免得神的忿怒因我们向他们所起的誓，临到我们身上。”

他藐视誓言，背弃条约；他已宣誓效忠，却又行了这一切事，所以他必不能逃脱。因此主耶和华这样说：我指着我的永生起誓：他既然藐视我的誓言，背弃我的约，我必使这罪归到他的头上。

那些下埃及求帮助，倚靠马匹，倚靠众多战车，依靠十分强壮的马兵，却不仰望以色列的圣者，也不求问耶和华的，有祸了！耶和华是智慧的，他必降下灾祸，决不收回自己的话，却要起来攻击作恶者之家，又攻击那些助人作孽的。埃及人是人，并不是神；他们的马匹是血肉，并不是灵；耶和华一伸手，那帮助人的就绊倒，那受帮助的也必仆倒，并且一同灭亡。

摩西对亚伦说：“这人民向你作了什么，你竟使他们陷在大罪里呢？”

冥顽不灵的、不守信用的、冷酷无情的、没有恻隐之心的。他们虽然明明知道行这些事的人，神判定他们是该死的，然而他们不单自己去行，也喜欢别人去行。

你们不可与这地的居民立约，要拆毁他们的祭坛。’你们竟没有听从我的话；你们作的是什么呢？

亚比米勒把亚伯拉罕召了来，对他说：“你为什么向我们这样行呢？我在什么事上得罪了你，以致你给我和我的国带来这个大罪呢？你对我作了不应该作的事。”亚比米勒又对亚伯拉罕说：“你为了什么缘故要这样作呢？”

先见哈拿尼的儿子耶户出来迎见约沙法王，对他说：“你怎能帮助恶人，喜爱那恨恶耶和华的人呢？因此耶和华的忿怒必临到你身上。

神的殿和偶像怎能协调呢？我们就是永生神的殿，正如神说：“我要住在他们中间，在他们中间来往；我要作他们的神，他们要作我的子民。”

他眼中藐视卑鄙的人，却尊重敬畏耶和华的人。他起了誓，纵然自己吃亏，也不更改。

原来基遍人不是以色列人，而是亚摩利人中余剩的后人。以色列人曾经起誓与他们立约，但扫罗却为以色列人和犹大人发热心，设法要击杀他们。王把基遍人召了来，对他们说话。

以色列王亚哈问犹大王约沙法：“你愿意和我一同到基列的拉末去吗？”他回答：“你我不分彼此；我的人民就是你的人民；我必和你一同作战。”
