In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians.

In the 39th year of Asa’s rule his feet began to hurt. The pain was terrible. But even though he was suffering, he didn’t look to the Lord for help. All he did was go to the doctors.

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored?

And when Jesus heard it, he said to them,“ Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all.

Luke the beloved physician greets you, as does Demas.

“ Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father. So the physicians embalmed Israel.
