因為他欺壓窮人，不顧他們，強搶不是自己建造的房屋。

於是烏西雅十分忿怒，手裡拿著香爐正要燒香，他向眾祭司發怒的時候，就在耶和華的殿裡香壇旁邊眾祭司的面前，他的額上忽然長出了大痲風。

大衛數點了人民以後，良心一直不安，於是對耶和華說：“我作了這事，犯了大罪。耶和華啊！現在求你除去你僕人的罪孽，因為我作了非常糊塗的事！”大衛早晨起來；耶和華的話臨到迦得先知，就是大衛的先見，說：“你去告訴大衛說：‘耶和華這樣說：我給你三個選擇，你要選擇一個，我好向你施行。’”於是迦得來見大衛，問他說：“你要國中三年（按照《馬索拉文本》，“三年”作“七年”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯；參代上21:12）的饑荒呢？或是要在你敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？或是要國中有三天的瘟疫呢？現在你要想想，決定我該用甚麼話回覆那差我來的。”大衛對迦得說：“我非常為難，我們情願落在耶和華的手裡，因為他有豐盛的憐憫。不要讓我落在人的手裡。”

我必把這杯放在那些苦待你的人的手裡；他們曾對你說：‘你屈身俯伏，讓我們走過去吧！’你就以你的背作陸地，作街道，任由他們踏過去。”

於是大衛差派使者去把她接來。她來到大衛那裡，大衛就與她同房。那時她的月經剛得潔淨。事後，她就回家去了。

糾正好譏笑人的，必自招恥辱；責備惡人的，必遭受羞辱。你不要責備好譏笑人的，免得他恨你；要責備智慧人，他必愛你。教導智慧人，他就越有智慧；指教義人，他就增加學問。

以色列人說：“巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒吞滅了我們，使我們十分混亂，又使我們成為空的器皿；他像怪獸把我們吞下，他的肚塞滿了我們的美物，他卻把我們吐出去。”
