当时，有许多以法莲人、玛拿西人和西缅人看见亚撒的上帝耶和华与他同在，就从以色列来投奔他，寄居在犹大。亚撒把他们和所有的犹大人与便雅悯人都招聚在一起。

又招聚犹大、便雅悯的众人，并他们中间寄居的以法莲人、玛拿西人、西缅人。有许多以色列人归降亚撒，因见耶和华他的神与他同在。

以色列族見上帝耶和華眷祐亞撒、以法蓮、馬拿西、西面三族之賓旅、多歸焉。亞撒召之、亦召猶大便雅憫族眾、於十五年三月、俱至耶路撒冷。

招聚猶大便雅憫人眾、及旅其中之以法蓮人、瑪拿西人、西緬人、蓋歸降亞撒之以色列人甚眾、因見主其天主祐之、

Then he assembled all Judah and Benjamin and the people from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who had settled among them, for large numbers had come over to him from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

Then Asa gathered together all the people of Judah and Benjamin. He also gathered together the people from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who were living among them. Large numbers of people had come over to him from Israel. They came because they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who were residing with them, for great numbers had deserted to him from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

Then Asa called together all the people of Judah and Benjamin, along with the people of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had settled among them. For many from Israel had moved to Judah during Asa’s reign when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

Then he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, as well as those from the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who were residing among them, for they had defected to him from Israel in great numbers when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

Then he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who dwelt with them from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon, for they came over to him in great numbers from Israel when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and them that sojourned with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that Jehovah his God was with him.

Then he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, as well as those from the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had settled among them, for they had defected to him from Israel in great numbers when they saw that Yahweh his God was with him.

And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God[ was] with him.

He assembled all Judah and Benjamin, as well as the settlers from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who had come to live with them. Many people from Israel had come there to live when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

He gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and those who lived with them out of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon; for they came to him out of Israel in abundance when they saw that Yahweh his God was with him.

以色列各支派中那些诚心寻求以色列的上帝耶和华的人，都跟随利未人到耶路撒冷献祭给他们祖先的上帝耶和华。

当时，犹太、加利利、撒玛利亚各地的教会都很平安，得到了坚固。信徒们非常敬畏主，又得到圣灵的安慰，人数越来越多。

从前，大卫和非利士人一同去攻打扫罗的时候，有些玛拿西人来投奔大卫。但大卫及其部下没有帮助非利士人作战，因为非利士人的首领商议后，害怕大卫拿着非利士人的头颅去归顺他的主人扫罗，便让他们走了。

以色列人听见王这样断案，都敬畏他，因为他们知道他有上帝所赐的智慧，可以秉公执法。

扫罗知道耶和华与大卫同在，自己的女儿米甲也爱他，

他主人看出耶和华与他同在，使他凡事亨通，

犹大全体会众、祭司、利未人和从以色列来的全体会众，以及寄居在以色列和犹大的人尽都欢喜。

希西迦派人通告以色列和犹大全境，又写信通知以法莲人和玛拿西人，叫他们到耶路撒冷耶和华的殿，向以色列的上帝耶和华守逾越节。王、众官员及耶路撒冷的全体会众决定在二月守逾越节。他们不能在一月守节期，因为洁净自己的祭司不够多，民众也没有聚集在耶路撒冷。王与全体会众都很赞成这个计划。于是，他们下令通告全以色列，从别示巴直到但，让人们到耶路撒冷向以色列的上帝耶和华守逾越节，因为人们不常照律例守这节期。信差遵照王的命令带着王和众官员的信走遍以色列和犹大，宣告说：“以色列人啊，你们应当归向亚伯拉罕、以撒和以色列的上帝耶和华，好使祂转向你们这些从亚述王手中逃脱的余民。不要效法你们的祖先和亲族，他们对他们祖先的上帝耶和华不忠，以致耶和华使他们的下场很可怕，正如你们所见的。现在，不要像你们的祖先那样顽固不化；要顺服耶和华，进入祂永远圣洁的圣所，事奉你们的上帝耶和华，好使祂的烈怒转离你们。你们若归向祂，你们的弟兄和儿女必蒙掳走他们之人的怜悯，得以回归此地，因为你们的上帝耶和华有恩典，好怜悯。你们若归向祂，祂必不会转脸不顾你们。”信差将这通告逐城传遍以法莲和玛拿西，直到西布伦，可是那些地方的人却嘲笑、戏弄他们。然而，有些亚设人、玛拿西人和西布伦人谦卑悔改，来到耶路撒冷。

这一城的居民必到那一城，说，我们快去向耶和华求恩，去寻求万军之耶和华吧！我自己也去。各民族和各强国必来耶路撒冷寻求万军之耶和华，向耶和华求恩。那时，十个来自列国、讲不同语言的人必拉住一个犹大人的衣角，说，让我们跟你们同去吧，因为我们听说上帝与你们同在。这是万军之耶和华说的。’”

从此，以色列人反叛大卫家，一直到今天。

“先祖们嫉妒自己的弟弟约瑟，把他卖到了埃及。但上帝一直与他同在，救他脱离一切危难，又赐他过人的智慧，使他在埃及法老面前得到恩宠，官拜宰相治理全国，并管理王室。
