來，我們歸向耶和華吧！他撕裂我們，也必醫治；打傷我們，也必包紮。

以色列人哀求耶和華說：「我們得罪了你，因為我們離棄了我們的上帝，去事奉諸巴力。」耶和華對以色列人說：「我豈沒有救你們脫離埃及人、亞摩利人、亞捫人和非利士人嗎？西頓人、亞瑪力人和馬雲人欺壓你們，你們哀求我，我也拯救你們脫離他們的手。你們竟離棄我去事奉別神！所以我不再救你們了。你們去哀求你們所選擇的神明；你們遭遇急難的時候，讓它們救你們吧！」以色列人對耶和華說：「我們犯罪了，照你看為好的待我們，只求你今日拯救我們吧！」以色列人就除掉他們中間的外邦神明，事奉耶和華。耶和華因以色列所受的苦難而心裏焦急。

然而，他聽見他們哀告的時候，就眷顧他們的急難，

又有以賽亞放膽說：「沒有尋找我的，我要讓他們尋見；沒有求問我的，我要向他們顯現。」

以色列啊，你要歸向耶和華－你的上帝，你因自己的罪孽跌倒了。當歸向耶和華，用言語向他說：「求你除盡罪孽，悅納善行，我們就用嘴唇的祭代替牛犢獻上。亞述不能救我們，我們不再騎馬，也不再對我們手所造的偶像說：『你是我們的上帝』；孤兒在你那裏得蒙憐憫。」

以色列人呼求耶和華，耶和華就為以色列人興起一位拯救者來救他們，就是迦勒的弟弟基納斯的兒子俄陀聶。耶和華的靈降在他身上，他就作了以色列的士師。他出去爭戰，耶和華將亞蘭王古珊‧利薩田交在他手中，他的手戰勝了古珊‧利薩田。
