Although he did not remove the high places from Israel, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.

And Asa oppressed[ some] of the people the same time.And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they[ are] written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease[ was] exceeding[ great]: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.

Only the people sacrificed in high places, because there was no house built unto the name of the LORD, until those days.And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that[ was] the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

For he took away the altars of the strange[ gods], and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:And commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
