亞撒和跟隨他的軍兵追趕他們，直到基拉耳。古實人被殺的很多，無法復原，因為他們在耶和華與他軍兵面前被擊潰。猶大人奪了許多財物，又攻打基拉耳四圍一切的城鎮；城中的人都懼怕耶和華。猶大人擄掠了一切的城鎮，因其中的財物很多，又毀壞了羣畜的圈，奪取許多的羊和駱駝，就回耶路撒冷去了。

掃羅說：「這是百姓從亞瑪力人那裏帶來的，因為他們愛惜上好的牛羊，要獻給耶和華－你的上帝。其餘的，我們都滅盡了。」

如今我們把各人所得的金器，就是腳鏈子、手鐲、打印的戒指、耳環、項鏈，都送給耶和華為供物，好在耶和華面前為我們贖罪。」

這示羅密和他的兄弟管理一切庫房的聖物，就是大衛王和眾族長、千夫長、百夫長，以及軍官所分別為聖之物。他們把打仗時奪取的一些財物分別為聖，用來修造耶和華的殿。

所羅門王獻二萬二千頭牛、十二萬隻羊為祭。這樣，王和眾百姓為上帝的殿行了奉獻之禮。

所羅門上到耶和華面前會幕的銅壇那裏，在壇上獻一千祭牲為燔祭。

再從那出去打仗的戰士所得的人、牛、驢、羊中，每五百取一，獻給耶和華為貢物。要從他們那一半中取出這些，交給以利亞撒祭司，作為耶和華的舉祭。

百姓卻從掠物中取了牛羊，是當滅之物中最好的，要在吉甲獻給耶和華－你的上帝。」
