扫罗说：“这是百姓从亚玛力人那里带来的，因为他们爱惜上好的牛羊，要献给耶和华—你的上帝。其余的，我们都灭尽了。”

如今我们把各人所得的金器，就是脚链子、手镯、打印的戒指、耳环、项链，都送给耶和华为供物，好在耶和华面前为我们赎罪。”

这示罗密和他的兄弟管理一切库房的圣物，就是大卫王和众族长、千夫长、百夫长，以及军官所分别为圣之物。他们把打仗时夺取的一些财物分别为圣，用来修造耶和华的殿。

所罗门王献二万二千头牛、十二万只羊为祭。这样，王和众百姓为上帝的殿行了奉献之礼。

所罗门上到耶和华面前会幕的铜坛那里，在坛上献一千祭牲为燔祭。

再从那出去打仗的战士所得的人、牛、驴、羊中，每五百取一，献给耶和华为贡物。要从他们那一半中取出这些，交给以利亚撒祭司，作为耶和华的举祭。

百姓却从掠物中取了牛羊，是当灭之物中最好的，要在吉甲献给耶和华—你的上帝。”
