亚撒和跟随他的人民追赶他们，直到基拉耳；古实人被杀的很多，不能恢复强盛；因为他们在耶和华和他的军队面前被击溃了；犹大人夺取了极多战利品。他们又攻击基拉耳周围的一切城市，因为各城的人都惧怕耶和华。犹大人又把各城洗掠一空，因为城中的财物甚多。他们又毁坏了牲畜的棚，牵走了很多的羊和骆驼，然后回耶路撒冷去了。

扫罗回答：“这是众民从亚玛力人那里带来的，因为他们爱惜这些上好的牛羊，要献给耶和华你的神为祭；其余的，我们都已经彻底毁灭了。”

现在我们把耶和华的供物，都送来了，就是我们各人所得的金器、脚链子、镯子、打印戒指、耳环、手钏，好在耶和华面前，为我们自己赎罪。”

这示罗密和他的兄弟掌管库房里的一切圣物，就是大卫王、众家族首领、千夫长、百夫长和军长所献的圣物。他们把在战场上掠夺的财物献上，用作修建耶和华的殿。

所罗门王献上了二万二千头牛、十二万只羊为祭。这样，王和全体人民为神的殿举行了奉献礼。

所罗门上到耶和华会幕前面的铜祭坛旁边，在坛上献上了一千只燔祭牲。

你又要从出去打仗的人所得的，无论是人、牛、驴，或羊群之中，抽出五百分之一作贡物奉给耶和华；你们要从他们那一半中抽出，交给以利亚撒祭司，作耶和华的举祭。

可是众民却从那些战利品中，取了应当毁灭之物中上好的牛羊，要在吉甲献给耶和华你的神为祭。”
