羅波安住在耶路撒冷，在猶大地修築城邑，為保障修築伯利恆、以坦、提哥亞、伯‧夙、梭哥、亞杜蘭、迦特、瑪利沙、西弗、亞多萊音、拉吉、亞西加、瑣拉、亞雅崙、希伯崙。這都是猶大和便雅憫的堅固城。羅波安又堅固各處的保障，在其中安置軍長，又預備下糧食、油、酒。他在各城裏預備盾牌和槍，且使城極其堅固。猶大和便雅憫都歸了他。

於是國中太平四十年。基納斯的兒子俄陀聶死了。

以後所羅門重新修築希蘭送給他的那些城邑，使以色列人住在那裏。所羅門往哈馬瑣巴去，攻取了那地方。所羅門建造曠野裏的達莫，又建造哈馬所有的積貨城，又建造上伯‧和崙、下伯‧和崙作為保障，都有牆，有門，有閂；又建造巴拉和所有的積貨城，並屯車輛馬兵的城，與耶路撒冷、黎巴嫩，以及自己治理的全國中所願意建造的。

耶和華使以色列人安靜，不與四圍的一切仇敵爭戰，已經多日。約書亞年紀老邁，

他止息刀兵，直到地極；他折弓、斷槍，把戰車焚燒在火中。

這樣，摩押就被以色列人制伏了。國中太平八十年。

耶和華啊，願你的仇敵都這樣滅亡！願愛你的人如日頭出現，光輝烈烈！這樣，國中太平四十年。

現在耶和華－我的神使我四圍平安，沒有仇敵，沒有災禍。
