猶大四圍各地的列國都起了畏懼永恆主的心，不敢同約沙法交戰。

他們便起行，隨有極大的驚慌佈滿了四圍的城市，他們就不追趕雅各的兒子了。

四圍各地的列國一聽見永恆主戰敗了以色列的仇敵，就都起了懼怕上帝的心。

他們一看見，就大喫一驚，驚惶失措，慌慌張張逃跑。在那裏戰兢抓住了他們；他們掙扎難過、像產難的婦人一樣。

在約但河西邊的亞摩利人那些王、和靠海的迦南人那些王、聽見永恆主使約但河的水從以色列人面前乾了、等着我們過河，他們就因以色列人的緣故而膽戰心驚，不再有勇氣了。

對他們說：『我知道永恆主已經把這地賜給你們，並且有一種懼怕你們的恐怖情緒落到我們心裏，而且這地所有的居民因你們的緣故都膽戰心驚。因為我們聽見你們出埃及的時候、永恆主怎樣使蘆葦海的水從你們面前乾了，你們又怎樣處置約但河東邊亞摩利人的兩個王、西宏和噩，就是你們所盡行毁滅歸神的。我們一聽見，都膽戰心驚；因你們的緣故、再沒有人勇氣能立得住的了；因為是永恆主你們的上帝、他在上天下地在做上帝。

『領兵的王逃跑了，逃跑了！』在家裏的美麗婦女分得了掠物。

於是在營中、在田野間、在眾民中、人都震顫發抖；駐防兵和遊擊兵呢、也都震顫發抖；地震動，顫抖之勢非常之大。

原來主早已使亞蘭人的軍兵聽見車聲馬聲和大軍的聲音；他們就彼此說：『啊，這必是以色列王雇了赫人諸王和慕斯利人諸王來攻擊我們的。』所以他們在黃昏時候起來逃跑，撇下他們的帳棚、馬、驢、——營盤都照舊——只顧逃命。那些患痲瘋屬之病的來到營盤邊兒，進了一座帳棚，又喫又喝，又從那裏拿起銀子金子和衣服，去私藏着；回來，又進了另一座帳棚，又從那裏拿起東西去私藏着。

他的磐石必因恐怖而挪去，他的軍官必因驚慌而跑離旗位』：這是永恆主發神諭說的：他就是那有燄火在錫安、有火爐在耶路撒冷的。

就在今日、我就要開始叫普天下聽見你名聲的萬族民都震懾你懼怕你，以致因你而發顫絞痛。」

眾民就出去，掠劫亞蘭人的營。於是一細亞細麵就賣了一舍客勒銀子，二細亞大麥也賣了一舍客勒銀子，正如永恆主所說的話。

震懾的聲音常在他耳中；在興隆時、強盜必臨到他那裏。

他們又對約書亞說：『永恆主把那地都交在我們手中了；並且那地所有的居民因我們的緣故都膽戰心驚呢。』

約沙法和兵眾就來，劫取了敵人的財物，見了許多牲口、財物、衣服、珍寶：他們剝脫下來作為己有的，多到不能攜帶。他們劫取了掠物、直劫到三天，因為很多。

那時瞎眼的必分得許多擄掠物；瘸腿的也必將掠劫物劫去。

永恆主的靈大大激動參孫，參孫就下到亞實基倫，擊殺了他們中間三十個人，取了所被剝奪的衣裳，將那三十套衣裳，給了那些將謎語的意思說出來的人；參孫發怒，便上他父親家裏去了。

不；在這一切事上、我們藉着那愛了我們的、倒是得勝有餘了。
