耶和華使猶大四圍的列國都甚恐懼，不敢與約沙法爭戰。

列邦諸國聽見耶和華戰敗以色列的仇敵，就甚懼怕。

他們見了這城就驚奇喪膽，急忙逃跑。他們在那裏被戰兢疼痛抓住，好像產難的婦人一樣。

約旦河西亞摩利人的諸王和靠海迦南人的諸王，聽見耶和華在以色列人前面使約旦河的水乾了，等到我們過去，他們的心因以色列人的緣故就消化了，不再有膽氣。

對他們說：「我知道耶和華已經把這地賜給你們，並且因你們的緣故我們都驚慌了。這地的一切居民在你們面前心都消化了；因為我們聽見你們出埃及的時候，耶和華怎樣在你們前面使紅海的水乾了，並且你們怎樣待約旦河東的兩個亞摩利王西宏和噩，將他們盡行毀滅。我們一聽見這些事，心就消化了。因你們的緣故，並無一人有膽氣。耶和華－你們的神本是上天下地的神。

統兵的君王逃跑了，逃跑了；在家等候的婦女分受所奪的。

於是在營中、在田野、在眾民內都有戰兢，防兵和掠兵也都戰兢，地也震動，戰兢之勢甚大。

因為主使亞蘭人的軍隊聽見車馬的聲音，是大軍的聲音；他們就彼此說：「這必是以色列王賄買赫人的諸王和埃及人的諸王來攻擊我們。」所以，在黃昏的時候他們起來逃跑，撇下帳棚、馬、驢，營盤照舊，只顧逃命。那些長大痲瘋的到了營邊，進了帳棚，吃了喝了，且從其中拿出金銀和衣服來，去收藏了；回來又進了一座帳棚，從其中拿出財物來去收藏了。

他的磐石必因驚嚇挪去；他的首領必因大旗驚惶。這是那有火在錫安、有爐在耶路撒冷的耶和華說的。

從今日起，我要使天下萬民聽見你的名聲都驚恐懼怕，且因你發顫傷慟。」

眾人就出去，擄掠亞蘭人的營盤。於是一細亞細麵賣銀一舍客勒，二細亞大麥也賣銀一舍客勒，正如耶和華所說的。

驚嚇的聲音常在他耳中；在平安時，搶奪的必臨到他那裏。

又對約書亞說：「耶和華果然將那全地交在我們手中；那地的一切居民在我們面前心都消化了。」

約沙法和他的百姓就來收取敵人的財物，在屍首中見了許多財物、珍寶，他們剝脫下來的多得不可攜帶；因為甚多，直收取了三日。

你的繩索鬆開：不能栽穩桅杆，也不能揚起篷來。那時許多擄來的物被分了；瘸腿的把掠物奪去了。

耶和華的靈大大感動參孫，他就下到亞實基倫，擊殺了三十個人，奪了他們的衣裳，將衣裳給了猜出謎語的人。參孫發怒，就上父家去了。

然而，靠着愛我們的主，在這一切的事上已經得勝有餘了。
