Have you not driven out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a bull and seven rams, even he may become a priest of things that are not gods.

爾曹非逐耶和華之祭司、亞倫後裔、及利未人、為己立祭司、循異邦之例乎、凡人攜牡犢一、牡羊七而來、自為區別、則可為祭司、以奉虛無之神、

爾曾棄耶和華祭司、亞倫後裔、及利未人、擅立諸祭司、循異邦之例、無論何人、攜犢一、牡綿羊七、欲為非上帝之祭司、爾則立之。

爾曹驅逐主之祭司、亞倫後裔及利未人、循異邦之習俗、為己擅立祭司、無論何人、牽犢一、牡綿羊七而來行禮、則為祭司、奉事虛無之神、

But didn’t you drive out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and make priests of your own as the peoples of other lands do? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may become a priest of what are not gods.

But you drove out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron. You also drove out the Levites. You appointed your own priests. That’s what the people of other nations do. Anyone can come and set himself apart. All he has to do is sacrifice a young bull and seven rams. Then he becomes a priest of gods that aren’t really gods at all!

But you have chased away the priests of the Lord( the descendants of Aaron) and the Levites, and you have appointed your own priests, just like the pagan nations. You let anyone become a priest these days! Whoever comes to be dedicated with a young bull and seven rams can become a priest of these so called gods of yours!

But you banished the LORD’s priests, Aaron’s descendants, and the Levites, and appointed your own priests just as the surrounding nations do! Anyone who comes to consecrate himself with a young bull or seven rams becomes a priest of these fake gods!

For the Levites left their pasture lands and their property and went to Judah and Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had excluded them from serving as priests to the Lord.He set up priests of his own for the high places, for the satyrs and the calves which he had made.

Has a nation changed gods, When they were not gods? But My people have exchanged their glory For that which is of no benefit.

“ So you shall do for Aaron and for his sons, according to all that I have commanded you; you shall ordain them for seven days.

Then Moses said,“ Dedicate yourselves today to the Lord— for every man has been against his son and against his brother— in order that He may bestow a blessing upon you today.”

However at that time, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those which by nature are not gods.

“ Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments and the anointing oil, and the bull of the sin offering, and the two rams and the basket of unleavened bread,

You see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in almost all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away a considerable number of people, saying that gods made by hands are not gods at all.

and have hurled their gods into the fire; for they were not gods, but only the work of human hands, wood and stone. So they have destroyed them.

And he made houses on high places, and appointed priests from all the people who were not of the sons of Levi.Jeroboam also instituted a feast in the eighth month on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Judah, and he went up to the altar. So he did in Bethel, sacrificing to the calves which he had made. And he stationed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made.Then he went up to the altar which he had made in Bethel on the fifteenth day in the eighth month, the month that he had devised in his own heart; and he instituted a feast for the sons of Israel and went up to the altar to burn incense.

After this event, Jeroboam did not abandon his evil way, but he again appointed priests of the high places from all the people; anyone who wanted, he ordained, and he became one of the priests of the high places.

So the priest who is anointed and ordained to serve as priest in his father’s place shall make atonement: he shall put on the linen garments, the holy garments,

gold for the things of gold and silver for the things of silver, that is, for all the work done by the craftsmen. Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the Lord?”

For from Israel comes even this! A craftsman made it, so it is not God; Assuredly, the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces.

“ Now this is what you shall do to them to consecrate them to serve as priests to Me: take one bull and two rams without blemish,

They sacrificed to demons, who were not God, To gods whom they have not known, New gods who came lately, Whom your fathers did not know.

“ Why should I forgive you? Your sons have forsaken Me And sworn by those who are not gods. When I had fed them to the full, They committed adultery And stayed at the prostitute’s house.
