Don’t you know that the Lord, the God of Israel, has given the kingship of Israel to David and his descendants forever by a covenant of salt?

The Lord is the God of Israel. Don’t you know that he has placed David and his sons after him on Israel’s throne forever? The Lord made a covenant of salt with David. The salt means the covenant will last for all time to come.

Ought you not to know that the Lord God of Israel gave the kingship over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?

And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt; you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt.

“ All the heave offerings of the holy things, which the children of Israel offer to the Lord, I have given to you and your sons and daughters with you as an ordinance forever; it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord with you and your descendants with you.”

“ When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.”’”

They shall drive you from men, your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.“ And inasmuch as they gave the command to leave the stump and roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be assured to you, after you come to know that Heaven rules.Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.At the end of the twelve months he was walking about the royal palace of Babylon.The king spoke, saying,“ Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice fell from heaven:“ King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you!And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”

“ For everyone will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”

Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one, And said:“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him,With whom My hand shall be established; Also My arm shall strengthen him.The enemy shall not outwit him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.I will beat down his foes before his face, And plague those who hate him.“ But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, And in My name his horn shall be exalted.Also I will set his hand over the sea, And his right hand over the rivers.He shall cry to Me,‘ You are my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.’Also I will make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.My mercy I will keep for him forever, And My covenant shall stand firm with him.His seed also I will make to endure forever, And his throne as the days of heaven.“ If his sons forsake My law And do not walk in My judgments,If they break My statutes And do not keep My commandments,Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, And their iniquity with stripes.Nevertheless My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, Nor allow My faithfulness to fail.My covenant I will not break, Nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David:His seed shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me;It shall be established forever like the moon, Even like the faithful witness in the sky.” Selah

Then I said,“ What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?

So the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised; and I have built a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord,

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said,“ Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!”

However the Lord God of Israel chose me above all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever, for He has chosen Judah to be the ruler. And of the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, He was pleased with me to make me king over all Israel.And of all my sons( for the Lord has given me many sons) He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’”

then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them.’”

And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever.”’”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go; I am sending you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided Myself a king among his sons.”

When you offer them before the Lord, the priests shall throw salt on them, and they will offer them up as a burnt offering to the Lord.

‘ I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field I have also given him to serve him.So all nations shall serve him and his son and his son’s son, until the time of his land comes; and then many nations and great kings shall make him serve them.

And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom and majesty, glory and honor.

And the Lord God of Israel delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they defeated them. Thus Israel gained possession of all the land of the Amorites, who inhabited that country.They took possession of all the territory of the Amorites, from the Arnon to the Jabbok and from the wilderness to the Jordan.‘ And now the Lord God of Israel has dispossessed the Amorites from before His people Israel; should you then possess it?Will you not possess whatever Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whatever the Lord our God takes possession of before us, we will possess.

For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
