Every morning and evening they present burnt offerings and fragrant incense to the Lord. They set out the bread on the ceremonially clean table and light the lamps on the gold lampstand every evening. We are observing the requirements of the Lord our God. But you have forsaken him.

Every morning and evening the priests bring burnt offerings and sweet- smelling incense to the Lord. They set out the holy bread on the table. That table is‘ clean.’ They light the lamps on the gold lampstand every evening. We always do what the Lord our God requires in his law. But you have deserted him.

This is a lasting ordinance for Israel.

“ Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the Lord from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the Lord must be tended continually.“ Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using two- tenths of an ephah for each loaf.Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold before the Lord.By each stack put some pure incense as a memorial portion to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the Lord.This bread is to be set out before the Lord regularly, Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant.It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is a most holy part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the Lord.”

Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.“ Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them.Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand— three on one side and three on the other.Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair— six branches in all.The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.“ Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.A talent of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories.

“ Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense.It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high— its horns of one piece with it.Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it.Make two gold rings for the altar below the molding— two on each of the opposite sides— to hold the poles used to carry it.Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law— before the atonement cover that is over the tablets of the covenant law— where I will meet with you.“ Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps.He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the Lord for the generations to come.Do not offer on this altar any other incense or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it.Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the Lord.”

You, Korah, and all your followers are to do this: Take censers

Then Moses said to Aaron,“ Take your censer and put incense in it, along with burning coals from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the Lord; the plague has started.”

“‘ But the Levitical priests, who are descendants of Zadok and who guarded my sanctuary when the Israelites went astray from me, are to come near to minister before me; they are to stand before me to offer sacrifices of fat and blood, declares the Sovereign Lord.

This will be for the consecrated priests, the Zadokites, who were faithful in serving me and did not go astray as the Levites did when the Israelites went astray.

When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the Lord’s order and did not set out.

“‘ When anyone brings a grain offering to the Lord, their offering is to be of the finest flour. They are to pour olive oil on it, put incense on itand take it to Aaron’s sons the priests. The priest shall take a handful of the flour and oil, together with all the incense, and burn this as a memorial portion on the altar, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.The rest of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the food offerings presented to the Lord.

because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions.”

Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne.The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand.

he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.

Instead of carrying out your duty in regard to my holy things, you put others in charge of my sanctuary.
