The leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ The Lord is just.”

The king and the leaders of Israel made themselves humble in the Lord’ s sight. They said,“ The Lord does what is right and fair.”

Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ The Lord is righteous.”

Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ The Lord is right in doing this to us!”

So the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ The LORD is righteous.”

So the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ The Lord is righteous.”

Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron.“ I have sinned this time,” he said to them.“ Yahweh is the Righteous One, and I and my people are the guilty ones.

So the Lord kept the disaster in mind and brought it on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in all He has done. But we have not obeyed Him.

When there is famine on the earth, when there is pestilence, when there is blight, mildew, locust, or grasshopper, when their enemy besieges them in the region of their fortified cities, when there is any plague or illness,whatever prayer or petition anyone from Your people Israel might have— each man knowing his own afflictions and spreading out his hands toward this temple—may You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place, and may You forgive, act, and repay the man, according to all his ways, since You know his heart, for You alone know every human heart,

The Lord is just, for I have rebelled against His command. Listen, all you people; look at my pain. My young men and women have gone into captivity.

The Lord is righteous; He has cut the ropes of the wicked.

But he did not humble himself before the Lord like his father Manasseh humbled himself; instead, Amon increased his guilt.

Listen and pay attention. Do not be proud, for the Lord has spoken.

“ But if they will confess their sin and the sin of their fathers— their unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, and how they acted with hostility toward Me,and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies— and if their uncircumcised hearts will be humbled, and if they will pay the penalty for their sin,

Say to the king and the queen mother: Take a humble seat, for your glorious crowns have fallen from your heads.

When He killed some of them, the rest began to seek Him; they repented and searched for God.They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God, their Redeemer.

“ But you his successor, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this.

So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and told him,“ This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may worship Me.

They have not become humble to this day, and they have not feared or followed My instruction or My statutes that I set before you and your ancestors.

His prayer and how God granted his request, and all his sin and unfaithfulness and the sites where he built high places and set up Asherah poles and carved images before he humbled himself, they are written in the Records of Hozai.

But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

When he was in distress, he sought the favor of Yahweh his God and earnestly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.

I will depart and return to My place until they recognize their guilt and seek My face; they will search for Me in their distress.

Adoni-bezek said,“ Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to pick up scraps under my table. God has repaid me for what I have done.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

Because they disregarded the righteousness from God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to God’s righteousness.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Then Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart— he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem— so the Lord’s wrath didn’t come on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.
