Because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam.

They hadn’t been faithful to the Lord. So Shishak attacked Jerusalem. It was in the fifth year that Rehoboam was king. Shishak was king of Egypt.

In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem

所羅門聞此、欲殺耶羅破暗、耶羅破暗遁於埃及、覲埃及王示撒、居於其國、迨所羅門薨、而後旋歸。

萬有之主耶和華曰、爾犯罪違道、必遭刑譴、俾爾知、遐棄我躬、不畏我威者、必備嘗艱苦。

眾祭司長與兆民、效尤異邦、多蹈罪愆、在耶路撒冷、耶和華之殿、業已肅清、復污衊之、其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜憫其民、視其殿為貴重、數遣使訓誨之、彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、使迦勒底王至、在聖室中、戮諸壯士、凡丁男、處女、耆年、耄耋者、俱無所惜、見虜於敵。上帝殿中、大小器皿、以及寶物、王與諸伯珍貴之器、悉徙至巴比倫、燬上帝殿、墮耶路撒冷城焚宮室、壞珍器。

見爾作惡、深堪痛疾不能復忍、故使爾土荒蕪、無人居處、為人詛咒駭異、今日之事為證。然爾焚香、獲罪於耶和華、不聽命令、不遵律例、不守法度、不奉禮儀、故今遭殃。

如爾背逆、棄所命之禮儀禁令、奉事他上帝、我必拔斯民之根株、驅於所錫之地、我所成聖之殿、為籲我名之所者、必廢、使兆民作歌譏刺。

我子所羅門、宜知爾父之上帝、誠心悅意事之、蓋耶和華鑒察人心、知悉人意、求之無弗得、遺之永見棄。

斯民違逆、使聖神懷憂、故耶和華視若讎民、而攻擊之。

昔異族行可惡之事、耶和華於以色列族前逐之、今民效尤、其地仍有孌童。○羅波暗五年、埃及王示撒攻耶路撒冷、耶和華殿及王宮之寶、盡刧以去、又刧所羅門所作之金干。

蓋背耶和華事巴力亞大綠、故耶和華怒以色列族、付於四周之敵、為人所虜、莫能扞禦。無論所往、耶和華降以禍災、踐其疇昔發誓之言、民乃悚懼。

心不欣喜、昔則踴躍、今則悲歌兮。

主屢行拯救、民乃背逆、自取罪戾、日就消亡兮。民逢禍患、主聞其籲、復加眷顧兮、

乃民弗順、違逆乎爾、背爾律例、爾之先知訓迪之、使歸於爾、反為所殺、干爾震怒。故爾使之困於敵國、遭難之時、彼呼籲爾、爾自天俯聽、矜憫靡涯、累賜扶危之士、不為敵所害。
