‘ This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.’” So they obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from marching against Jeroboam.

‘ The Lord says,“ Do not go up to fight against your relatives. I want every one of you to go back home. Things have happened exactly the way I planned them.” ’ ” So the young men obeyed the Lord’ s message. They turned back. They didn’t march out against Jeroboam.

‘ Thus says the Lord, You shall not go up or fight against your relatives. Return every man to his home, for this thing is from me.’” So they listened to the word of the Lord and returned and did not go against Jeroboam.

‘ This is what the Lord says: Do not fight against your relatives. Go back home, for what has happened is my doing!’” So they obeyed the message of the Lord and did not fight against Jeroboam.

‘ This is what the LORD says: You are not to march up and fight against your brothers. Each of you return home, for this incident has come from me.’” So they listened to what the LORD said and turned back from going against Jeroboam.

‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You shall not go up or fight against your brethren! Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.”’” Therefore they obeyed the words of the Lord, and turned back from attacking Jeroboam.

Thus saith Jehovah, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house; for this thing is of me. So they hearkened unto the words of Jehovah, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not to march up and fight against your brothers. Each of you must return home, for this incident has come from Me.’” So they listened to what the Lord said and turned back from going against Jeroboam.

‘ Yahweh says,“ You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers! Every man return to his house; for this thing is of me.”’” So they listened to Yahweh’s words, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

The sons of Israel led away captive two hundred thousand of their relatives, women, sons, and daughters; and they also took a great deal of spoils from them, and brought the spoils to Samaria.But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded; and he went out to meet the army which came to Samaria and said to them,“ Behold, because the Lord, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, He has handed them over to you, and you have killed them in a rage which has even reached heaven.Now you are proposing to subjugate the people of Judah and Jerusalem as male and female slaves for yourselves. So the king did not listen to the people, because it was a turn of events from God so that the Lord might establish His word, which He spoke through Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.When all Israel saw that the king had not listened to them, the people replied to the king, saying,“ What share do we have in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Everyone to your tents, Israel! Now look after your own house, David!” So all Israel went away to their tents.

But a man of God came to him saying,“ O king, do not let the army of Israel come with you, for the Lord is not with Israel nor with any of the sons of Ephraim.But if you do go, do it, be strong for the battle; yet God will bring you down before the enemy, for God has the power to help and to bring down.”Amaziah said to the man of God,“ But what are we to do about the hundred talents which I have given to the troops of Israel?” And the man of God answered,“ The Lord has much more to give you than this.”Then Amaziah dismissed the troops which came to him from Ephraim, to go home; so their anger burned against Judah, and they returned home in fierce anger.

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to keep many people alive.

And it came about at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the road. Now Ahijah had clothed himself with a new cloak; and both of them were alone in the field.Then Ahijah took hold of the new cloak which was on him and tore it into twelve pieces.And he said to Jeroboam,“ Take for yourself ten pieces; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says:‘ Behold, I am going to tear the kingdom away from the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes( but he shall have one tribe, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel),because they have abandoned Me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the sons of Ammon; and they have not walked in My ways, doing what is right in My sight and keeping My statutes and My ordinances, as his father David did.Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who kept My commandments and My statutes;but I will take the kingdom from his son’s hand and give it to you; that is, ten tribes.But to his son I will give one tribe, so that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen for Myself to put My name.However I will take you, and you shall reign over all that you desire, and you shall be king over Israel.Then it shall be, that if you listen to all that I command you and walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight by keeping My statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you and build you an enduring house as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.

The plan of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation.

Then Abner called to Joab and said,“ Should the sword devour forever? Do you not realize that it will be bitter in the end? So how long will you refrain from telling the people to turn back from pursuing their kinsmen?”

To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, loving, compassionate, and humble;

I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not among you anyone wise who will be able to decide between his brothers and sisters,but brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather suffer the wrong? Why not rather be defrauded?On the contrary, you yourselves do wrong and defraud. And this to your brothers and sisters!

Then the word passed throughout the army close to sunset, saying,“ Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”

They have set up kings, but not by Me; They have appointed officials, but I did not know it. With their silver and gold they have made idols for themselves, So that they will be eliminated.

So Abram said to Lot,“ Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are relatives!
