He said to them,“ What counsel do you give, that we may give an answer to these people, who have spoken to me, saying,‘ Make the yoke that your father put on us lighter?’”

说：“百姓求我减轻我父亲加给他们的重担。你们认为我该怎样回复他们？”

问他们：“这人民对我说：求你减轻你父亲加在我们身上的重轭吧。你们有什么提议，我好回覆他们呢？”

說：「這民對我說：『你父親使我們負重軛，求你使我們輕鬆些』；你們給我出個甚麼主意，我好回覆他們。」

他對他們說：「這百姓對我說：『你父親使我們負重軛，求你減輕一些。』你們出個甚麼主意，我們好把話帶回給他們。」

他對他們說：「這百姓對我說：『你父親使我們負重軛，求你減輕一些。』你們出個甚麼主意，我們好把話帶回給他們。」

說：「百姓求我減輕我父親加給他們的重擔。你們認為我該怎樣回覆他們？」

問他們：“這人民對我說：求你減輕你父親加在我們身上的重軛吧。你們有甚麼提議，我好回覆他們呢？”

問他們說：『這眾民對我說：「你使你父親所加在我們身上的軛輕鬆些吧」：你們給我出個甚麼主意，我好將答案回覆他們呢？』

曰、斯民謂我云、爾父加我之軛、求爾輕之、汝有何謀、以答斯民、

民來告我、父使眾所負之軛、必易以輕、汝何策以答之。

曰、斯民告我云、爾父加我之軛、求爾輕之、爾曹何議、當如何答之、

He asked them,“ What is your advice? How should we answer these people who say to me,‘ Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”

He asked them,“ What’s your advice? How should I answer these people? They said to me,‘ Make the load your father put on our shoulders lighter.’ ”

And he said to them,“ What do you advise that we answer this people who have said to me,‘ Lighten the yoke that your father put on us’?”

“ What is your advice?” he asked them.“ How should I answer these people who want me to lighten the burdens imposed by my father?”

He asked them,“ What message do you advise we send back to this people who said to me,‘ Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”

He said to them,“ What advice do you give, so that we may answer this people, who have spoken to me, saying,‘ Lighten the yoke which your father put on us’?”

And he said to them,“ What advice do you give? How should we answer this people who have spoken to me, saying,‘ Lighten the yoke which your father put on us’?”

And he said unto them, What counsel give ye, that we may return answer to this people, who have spoken to me, saying, Make the yoke that thy father did put upon us lighter?

He asked them,“ What message do you advise we send back to these people who said to me,‘ Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”

And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us?

He asked them,“ How do you advise me to respond to these people who said to me,‘ Lessen the demands your father placed on us’?”

King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying,“ What counsel do you give me about how to answer these people?”

Then Absalom said,“ Now call Hushai the Archite also, and let’s hear likewise what he says.”When Hushai had come to Absalom, Absalom spoke to him, saying,“ Ahithophel has spoken like this. Shall we do what he says? If not, speak up.”

Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them,“ Should I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain?” They said,“ Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat,“ There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” Jehoshaphat said,“ Don’t let the king say so.”
