Then King Rehoboam consulted the elders who had served his father Solomon during his lifetime.“ How would you advise me to answer these people?” he asked.

愚人自以為是，智者肯聽勸誡。

押沙龍說：「召亞基人戶篩進來，我們也聽聽他的意見。」戶篩來了，押沙龍就把亞希多弗的建議告訴他，問他：「我們應該照亞希多弗的提議去做嗎？如果不可行，說說你的看法吧。」

「你要請教先輩，探究祖先的經驗。因為我們就像昨天才出生，一無所知，我們在世的日子如同掠影。

不可拋棄你的朋友和父親的至交。患難時別投靠兄弟，近鄰勝過遠親。

智慧與老人相伴，知識與長者為伍。「上帝有智慧和權能，謀略和知識屬於祂。
