『你父親使我們的軛很難負；你呢，現在你使你父親那令人很難作的苦工、和他所加在我們身上的重軛、輕鬆些吧，我們就服事你。』

“ Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but now lighten the harsh labor and the heavy yoke he put on us, and we will serve you.”

“ Your father put a heavy load on our shoulders. But now make our hard work easier. Make the heavy load on us lighter. Then we’ll serve you.”

“ Your father made our yoke heavy. Now therefore lighten the hard service of your father and his heavy yoke on us, and we will serve you.”

“ Your father was a hard master,” they said.“ Lighten the harsh labor demands and heavy taxes that your father imposed on us. Then we will be your loyal subjects.”

“ Your father made our yoke harsh. Therefore, lighten your father’s harsh service and the heavy yoke he put on us, and we will serve you.”

所羅門又徵用了七萬名搬運工，八萬名在山上鑿石的匠人。

他們捆好重擔放在別人肩上，而自己連一根指頭也不肯動！

過了多年，埃及王死了。以色列人受盡奴役，就哀歎呼求，聲音傳到上帝那裡。

「你父親使我們負擔沉重，求你減輕我們的負擔吧，我們一定效忠你。」

於是，埃及人更殘酷地奴役他們，強迫他們和泥造磚，並做田間一切的苦工，使他們痛苦不堪。

我曾向我的子民發怒，讓我的產業被玷污，把他們交在你手中。你對他們毫不留情，甚至讓老人負極重的軛。

因為我們遵行上帝的命令就是愛上帝，祂的命令並不難遵守。

我心柔和謙卑，你們要負我的軛，向我學習，這樣你們的心靈就必得享安息。因為我的軛容易負，我的擔子很輕省。」

「將來管轄你們的王會徵用你們的兒子做他的戰車兵、騎兵，要他們跑在他的戰車前面。他會派一些人做千夫長、五十夫長，一些人為他耕種田地、收割莊稼，一些人製造兵器和戰車的裝備。他會把你們的女兒帶走，要她們給他造香膏、煮飯和烤餅。他會奪去你們最好的田地、葡萄園和橄欖園，送給他的臣僕。他會從你們的糧食和葡萄園的出產中收取十分之一，送給他的官員和臣僕。他會徵用你們的僕婢及最好的牛和驢來為他效勞。他會拿去你們羊群的十分之一，並讓你們做他的奴僕。將來你們會因所選之王的壓迫而呼求耶和華，耶和華卻不會垂聽你們。」

猶大人和以色列人多如海沙，豐衣足食，生活幸福。

所羅門王沒有讓以色列人服勞役，而是讓他們做戰士、官長、統帥、將領、戰車長和騎兵長。

所羅門在世的時候，從但到別示巴的猶大人和以色列人都在自己的葡萄樹和無花果樹下安居。
