So the king did not listen to the people, for this turn of events was from God, to fulfill the word the Lord had spoken to Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.

So the king didn’t listen to the people. That’s because God had planned it that way. What the Lord had said through Ahijah came true. Ahijah had spoken the Lord’ s message to Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Ahijah was from Shiloh.

士兵们就来，把与耶稣一起被钉十字架的头一个人的腿打断，又把另一个人的也打断了。可是，当他们来到耶稣那里，看见他已经死了，就没有打断他的腿。不过有一个士兵用长矛刺入耶稣的肋旁，立刻有血和水流了出来。看见这事的那人做了见证——他的见证是真实的，并且他知道他所说的是真实的——这是为了要你们也信。事实上，这些事发生，是为要应验经上的话：“他的骨头，一根也不被折断。”

他们彼此说：“不要把它撕开，让我们抽签，看它是谁的。”这是为要应验经上的话：“他们分了我的衣服，又为我的衣裳抽签。”士兵们果然做了这些事。
