我已经给你们权柄可以践踏蛇和蝎子，又胜过仇敌一切的能力，绝没有什么能害你们。

他又说：“看哪，这地的以色列人如今这么多，你们竟然叫他们歇下劳役！”当天，法老吩咐监工和工头说：“你们不可照以前一样提供草给百姓做砖，要叫他们自己去捡草。他们平时做砖的数目，你们仍旧向他们要，一点不可减少，因为他们是懒惰的，所以才呼求说：‘让我们去向我们的上帝献祭。’你们要把更重的工作加在这些人身上，使他们在其中劳碌，不去理会谎言。”

它们有尾巴像蝎子，长着毒刺，尾巴上的毒刺有能力伤害人五个月。

我心里柔和谦卑，你们当负我的轭，向我学习；这样，你们的心灵就必得安息。

那日，你们必因自己所选的王哀求耶和华，但那日耶和华却不应允你们。”

埃及人严厉地强迫以色列人做工，使他们因苦工而生活痛苦；无论是和泥，是做砖，是做田间各样的工，一切的工埃及人都严厉地对待他们。

但是不许蝗虫害死他们，只可使他们受痛苦五个月；这痛苦就像人被蝎子螫了的痛苦一样。

我所要的禁食，岂不是要你松开凶恶的绳，解开轭上的索，使被欺压的得自由，折断一切的轭吗？

我向我的百姓发怒，使我的产业受凌辱，将他们交在你手中；然而你毫不怜悯他们，连老年人你也加极重的轭。

有蝗虫从烟中出来，飞到地上，有权柄赐给它们，好像地上的蝎子有权柄一样。

“你去告诉哈拿尼雅说，耶和华如此说：你折断木轭，却换来铁轭！万军之耶和华—以色列的上帝如此说：我已将铁轭加在这些国的颈项上，使他们服事巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒。他们总要服事他，我也把野地的走兽给了他。”

现在，去做工吧！草是不会给你们，砖却要如数交纳。”
