我已經給你們權柄，使你們能踐踏蛇和蠍子，勝過仇敵的權勢，沒有什麼能傷害你們。

法老又說：「這地方的以色列人如此眾多，你竟叫他們停止工作！」當天，法老就對埃及監工和以色列人的工頭下令：「從今天開始，不許再供應草給他們製磚，叫他們自己去撿，但上交的磚的數量要和往常一樣，一塊也不可少。因為他們懶惰，所以才嚷著要去給他們的上帝獻祭。你們要加重他們的工作，他們就無暇再聽那些蠱惑人心的話了！」

牠們像蠍子一樣尾巴上有毒鉤，可以折磨人五個月。

我心柔和謙卑，你們要負我的軛，向我學習，這樣你們的心靈就必得享安息。

將來你們會因所選之王的壓迫而呼求耶和華，耶和華卻不會垂聽你們。」

於是，埃及人更殘酷地奴役他們，強迫他們和泥造磚，並做田間一切的苦工，使他們痛苦不堪。

但不可殺死他們，只折磨他們五個月。那種折磨就像被蠍子蟄到一樣。

「『我要的禁食是，除去罪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，折斷一切的軛，使受欺壓的人得到自由，

我曾向我的子民發怒，讓我的產業被玷污，把他們交在你手中。你對他們毫不留情，甚至讓老人負極重的軛。

有蝗蟲從煙裡飛出來，落到地上，有地上蠍子的能力賜給牠們。

「你去告訴哈拿尼雅，耶和華說，『你折斷了木軛，卻要換來鐵軛。我要把鐵軛放在所有這些國家的頸上，他們都要臣服於巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，連田野的走獸也要交給他管轄。』這是以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說的。」

回去繼續工作！我不再供應草給你們，但磚要如數交齊。」
