I will make your descendants as plentiful as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone can count the dust of the earth, then your descendants could also be counted.

The Lord has sworn to David A truth from which He will not turn back:“ I will set upon your throne one from the fruit of your body.If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I will teach them, Their sons also will sit upon your throne forever.”

He said to me,‘ Your son Solomon is the one who shall build My house and My courtyards; for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a Father to him.I will establish his kingdom forever if he resolutely performs My commandments and My ordinances, as is done now.’

Who has counted the dust of Jacob, Or the number of the fourth part of Israel? May I die the death of the upright, And may my end be like his!”

Now then, Lord God, the word that You have spoken about Your servant and his house, confirm it forever, and do just as You have spoken,so that Your name may be great forever, by saying,‘ The Lord of armies is God over Israel’; and may the house of Your servant David be established before You.For You, Lord of armies, God of Israel, have given a revelation to Your servant, saying,‘ I will build you a house’; therefore Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.Now then, Lord God, You are God, and Your words are truth; and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.And now, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, so that it may continue forever before You. For You, Lord God, have spoken; and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”

When your days are fulfilled that you must go to be with your fathers, then I will set up one of your descendants after you, who will be from your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.I will be his father and he shall be My son; and I will not take My favor away from him, as I took it from him who was before you.But I will settle him in My house and in My kingdom forever, and his throne will be established forever.” ’ ”

And now, Lord my God, You have made Your servant king in place of my father David, yet I am like a little boy; I do not know how to go out or come in.And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people who are too many to be numbered or counted.
