大卫在大卫城为自己建造宫殿，并为上帝的约柜预备地方，支搭帐篷。

于是，大卫召集了从埃及的西曷河一直到哈马口的全体以色列人，要将上帝的约柜从基列·耶琳运来。大卫率领以色列众人到巴拉，即犹大的基列·耶琳，要将上帝的约柜运回来。这约柜以坐在基路伯天使上面的耶和华的名字命名。
