Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

對那些今世富有的人，你當吩咐他們不可高傲自大，也不可把盼望寄託在靠不住的財富上，而要寄託在神身上，神把萬物豐豐富富地賜給我們享受。

當諭今世之富有者、志勿高、勿望無定之財、惟望上帝、即厚以百物賜我者、

當諭此世之富者、心勿傲、無定之財勿恃、惟賴永生上帝、洪賜我眾、百物以享之、

當諭此世之富者、心勿驕傲、勿恃無定之財、惟恃永生天主、厚賜我眾百物以享之、

叮嚀斯世富人、不可驕傲；財富無常、未足恃也。所可恃者、惟天主耳。天主慨然以萬物賜予吾人、俾得充量享受者、

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

Command people who are rich in this world not to be proud. Tell them not to put their hope in riches. Wealth is so uncertain. Command those who are rich to put their hope in God. He richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.

Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

He who trusts in his riches will fall, But the righteous will flourish like foliage.

Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.

Thus says the Lord:“ Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.

Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.

And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them,“ Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!

For riches are not forever, Nor does a crown endure to all generations.

And because of the majesty that He gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put down.But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him.Then he was driven from the sons of men, his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and appoints over it whomever He chooses.“ But you his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, although you knew all this.And you have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.

There is a severe evil which I have seen under the sun: Riches kept for their owner to his hurt.But those riches perish through misfortune; When he begets a son, there is nothing in his hand.

Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation,but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away.

Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor— this is the gift of God.

but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.

then you say in your heart,‘ My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’

With the best things of the ancient mountains, With the precious things of the everlasting hills,

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.

But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes.

Lest I be full and deny You, And say,“ Who is the Lord?” Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God.

Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

They are not in trouble as other men, Nor are they plagued like other men.Therefore pride serves as their necklace; Violence covers them like a garment.Their eyes bulge with abundance; They have more than heart could wish.They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily.They set their mouth against the heavens, And their tongue walks through the earth.

“ O generation, see the word of the Lord! Have I been a wilderness to Israel, Or a land of darkness? Why do My people say,‘ We are lords; We will come no more to You’?

“ Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

The king spoke, saying,“ Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”

Now when evening had come, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.

For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; He blesses the greedy and renounces the Lord.The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.

And Jesus said to him,“ Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart,‘ I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’
